back in november 6th i bought a demo 1260s from ducati manchester paid 15k for it with a touring pack and 700 miles on it. the rest is history but after recovering from my accident i am ready to get another. rang ducati again and he has another demo which will be available 1st week in april. this one was registered on 1st sept 18, so same as the last one, has 400 miles on but it may go up, but no more than 1000 miles. he wants 14500 without the touring pack, which is another 1000, so i make it that the bike has gone up in 5 months??? i thought it may have come down or at least been the same as the last one?
You are now entering riding season... so prices go up or stable... Your last one was entering winter .. so prices lower...
Ducati have an offer on a new 1260S when registered before end of April that the touring pack or new riding kit is included FOC. Not sure if your looking at new or not though Oly? My new 1260S T was list price but had some bits and bobs thrown in to sweeten the deal. I did take the offer up on over a £1000 worth of riding kit though
Surely 2nd hand prices are driven by supply/demand, seasonal etc... I'm sure they will do a "deal" of some sort to secure the sale when you tell them what you paid last time.
Pretty sure that they get an additional discount, on what they'd usually pay, from Ducati on the cost of a demo bike. They then sell this at a significant profit 6 months later. It's a way for them to get used stock and makes them a decent chunk of cash. Squeeze them a bit harder and push for a better deal.
I’ve offered the same price as I paid in November, only £500 different to what he wants, but I’ve asked for delivery up to Cumbria. Not taking the risk of. It getting this one home . I will be replacing all My kit too so it could be a good do for them if I buy all that there too
Being GM there he does get caught up in the day to day issues that present themselves across the store. I’m sure he’ll be in touch tomorrow.
