British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. It’s the law

  2. They all know as they all voted for it in the withdrawl agreement, there are only 3 ways out of this, voting for A deal, a no deal or the government withdraws article 50 and cancels brexit. Those are the only legal outs as far as I know

The eu have already said if any extension is to be given, it must be short and for a reason that will bring the house together.

One of their biggest worries, if the extension takes us past may, then the U.K. will be required to run in the european mep elections. The trouble is, the eu has already divided out the U.K.'s mep allocation of 73 to other members states so the eu elections would be in chaos before they even start.

  3. What did he say ?

  4. After a party political broadcast on behalf of the Labour Party he said nothing.

  5. I'm lost, earlier they voted against an extension until May 22nd, yet tomorrow they vote to ask for an extension.

  9. Or against it.

Then they can carry on debating what they don’t want until they wake up and find we’ve left without a deal!

  11. Predictions v reality....
    • Mrs May's revised deal (99.9%) the same as the last one, was rejected by the commons by a majority of 170, with just 4 abstentions. Wrong 148 Against...
    • The vote on leaving on the 29th March without any deal was rejected by 155 votes, with a large number of abstentions..... Wow.... 4 votes
    • The vote on asking for an extension to Article 50 was passed by 113 votes, with a large number of abstentions **super correct**. Wow just 43 votes...
    • On hearing this news Mr. Barnier fell over while reaching for a young female news reporters bum. Those present said he looked very tired and emotional, glassy eyed he then stated "you could always stay, hic..... ", then fell asleep.
    • Brexiters are baying that democracy is dead.
    • Remainers claim a victory, saying that Brexit is effectively over.
    • The EU is wanting some concessions on the deal in return for a 90 day extension.
    • Spain wants a deal on getting Gibraltar back.
    • The SNP want Indie 2 because in their religion Easter is a time of renewal.
    • Mrs May is saying "now is not the time to appear weak, strong and stable, I'm listening".
    • Labour are calling for a vote of no confidence and this time the ERG / DUP and others may vote with them as there appears to be no other way to get rid of May.
    • Mr AirCon places large bet on End of May, being the end of May, however Mrs May agrees to resign by June to avoid loosing Labour's motion.
    • The Conservative leadership process has started.
    • Truth be told we are no closer to bringing this can of worms to a conclusion.

  12. I'm sure you are "technically correct". Statutary instrument legislation can overcome any current laws to resolve this.
Realistically the government will not now take the UK out of the EU without a deal imo. What will happen is a cross party / indicative votes process will find out what the MPs will accept. Whether May pulls this together or she is sidelined remains to be seen.

The EU will have to decide whether to grant an extension. I expect they will but with conditions like GE or second referendum if a deal is not passed before it ends.

In the end the deal which will pass will be the one the majority dislikes the least. That could even be Mays twice defeated deal!. Brexiteer MPs should be aware that No Brexit is becoming an option. Voting for Mays deal would ensure that Brexit does happen & on the 29th.

  13. No idea what he said but I suspect you are right to hate his words and that you are not a bad person

  14. What's that for exactly :joy: the EU say even more chance of no deal now :yum

  15. I must admit I am finding it funny watching a remaining house of commons getting upset whilst claiming they are not being listened to, whilst those very same people do not listen to the majority democratic vote of the people :D

  19. What did the SNP spokesman in Parliament think? No idea the BBC always switch to a man stood on scaffolding in the cold as soon as his name is mentioned.
