I've often thought the same but have no experience of them so can't really comment. Look quite nice though.
looks nice but yes possibly made of cheese lol but on serious note i have had experiance of china made bikes some makes have realy low build quality and castings can be realy thin and well cheese like but have also seen a few pretty good made versions as well possibly buyer beware but not as bad as they were say a few years ago
Me too. That's why I asked the question. For that kind of money (and there is actually someone selling them for a £100 less) I'd be tempted to buy one if they were ok. Ps. And I know you get what you pay for (with the exception of the Multistrada of course :wink
there probably is some cheese content but all these manufacturers are 'knocking on the door' of acceptable quality now. Hyosung from Korea have been making parts for Suzuki for some time now and their own bikes represent pretty good value.
I've had extensive experience of Chinese bikes, and to be honest most of the horror stories stem from incompetent owners rather than the bikes themselves. Granted, the quality isn't top notch but they are perfectly serviceable. After crash testing the yamasaki in a major accident my mate (designer for triumph) and I (time served engineer and toolmaker by trade) were both impressed how consistently and progressively the bike failed in impact. Don't forget the big players in the small bike market already build on China, India, and south America. A decent Chinese bike such as a skyteam or sanya will be every bit as servicable as a small Honda. The quality of the small bikes on the market these days from the big manufacturers is nothing like as good as it was a few years ago.
built up some crated twist n go peds last year they were chinese but the engines were meant to honda built well as for the above when compared in price against say a 50cc twist n go maybe not a bad bargain probably a blast to own as a second bike could be fun on country roads lol :wink:
Well I went to the local dealer, Earnshaws, today and whilst they had some Skyteam bikes on show they were just monkey bikes. On the plus side they had a fair bit of new Kawasaki stock and some good used stock, including a Monster. And they seemed busy. Last time I was there they a half empty showroom, a pushbike/mountain bike section and no customers. I hope they've turned the corner financially. :smile:
