British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Confused now, can they or can't they ?

    Oh, you've edited your post.

  2. Stuff :):upyeah:

  3. You're adept at being a grumpy old bugga.

    Respect, dude.

  4. Are my veiled insults famous?

I'll have to stop veiling them.
Mind you, you're a sensitive lot. Make a joke about a Pole and some people feel super insulted.
I can't think when I've insulted anyone, but quote away!

  8. I think there's a lot of truth in this. What I have found interesting in when the politicians do a stint as radio hosts. They are surprisingly good at it. Rees Mogg was entertaining and Soubry was quite professional at it.

You wouldn't want to listen to O' Brien if you were a Leaver, any more than you can put up with listening to His Smugness Farage if you're a Remainer. All the LBC radio hosts love the sound of their own voice, so there is very little listening to the general public. Once you're done with the adverts and the news, if anyone actually phones in, they are usually talked over. Or you just get the host wittering on while they organise someone to talk to (against).

  9. If you're snowed in half way up a mountain, your supper choices are a bit limited. You sort of eat what is to hand, which is the basis of all regional cooking.

  11. You don't half have some unpleasant analogies today, Noobs. Sex on the brain?

  12. When?

  13. And if half way up the mountain you see impending doom ahead, wise men make u-turn and do not carry on, stupid men carry on :bucktooth:

  14. Why?

  15. You edited the first post, originally it said yes

  16. So quick recap

    Mays deal dead
    Labour support 2nd referendum
    Mays deal dead again
    They vote against no deal
    They have no deal
They will then vote on extension
    Labour won't support 2nd referendum
    Mays deal likely back again
    Mays deal likely dead again

    Clear?

  17. Carry on where? They live there.
You have been to the Alps, haven't you?

  18. Next time you are astride your trusty Mutley, blazing across the alpes, you might try fondue in Canton Vaud, Switzerland. You might be surprised.

  19. Sorry, your locution confused me:
"Do you think the pissed off and hopelessly ignorant people should not be allowed to vote ?"

I say "yes" ie, yes they should be allowed to vote and it looks as if I'm agreeing with your statement, ie that they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

I say "no" ie, no I don't think this and it looks like no, they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

It was hard to win. I edited my post to make my position clear: of course ignorant and annoyed people get the vote. That is just how democracy works. But the results you get are also often in line with that. It's just how it is.

So the furious people phoning in saying "once we get back control of our laws we'll be able to... " or the one who said that May should just "leave the EU with no deal right now" as if she gets to decide by autocratic diktat (probably what the caller would like as a political system), despite it being pointed out repeatedly that this is not how Parliament works - yes, they get the vote too. Should we be pleased or sad? You decide.

  20. In TMs eyes if you keep repeating the last two eventually her deal will get through.
