Sup guys, buying a Monster with 15k on the clock for my work commuter, it's in fairly good condition, however it has engine warning light on even before the engine turns over. The guy I'm buying it from claims he had timing belts and oil done and ever since it came back from the garage, it's been on. Is it possible the on board ECU is just crying they didn't reset something? Just trying to gauge the cost of getting it healthy. He sent me a video of it starting and running with some small revs, all looks and sounds good. Idles fine.
I believe that the workshop are not able to re-set the service light if the service is done before the due mileage/time. It may also be that the person who serviced it didn’t have the software tool to do the re-set. Andy
Awesome, thought as much, theres a couple of authorised Ducati dealers in the bay area so I'll get the bike checked over with them.
It's been too long It's nothing speedy or big, but at least it's a Ducati. I sorely wanted to get another Multistrada, but as we're buying a villa in Spain this year, I've been a grown up and saved $20k by buying a second hand monster rather than a new Multi lol.
Hi Dave, Do you know my friend Dennis? He lives on his yacht at Almeida Island. We were there in September. Much better climate than SF city.
Ended up buying a different' bike, 13k on the clock, 2007 Monster 695 but in MUCH better condition and cheaper... But no service history. I picked it up on Sunday and I just dropped it off to a reputable Ducati dealership but with some clouds over my judgment... $1,048 is quoted, fine, I guess I have no options. BUT, he was very wishy washy on what exactly will be carried out. Has anyone got a official link to what the 15k service entails? I will be asking them for an itemized report on what was done as I'll need it to backup the bike has some service history when I sell and also... I want to make sure they're doing as they should.
EDIT: Found something which I'll use as a guideline https://cdnmedia.endeavorsuite.com/...klist_2-valve-4-valve_NOT_Testastretta-11.pdf
