British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Perhaps the argument will be the only way to get an extension (as they haven’t had long to sort it out) is by revoking article 50.

  2. Article 50 removal isn't a hold, it's a cancel

  4. That's true, I'm trying to guess what their reason for revoking it will be :)

  5. You couold be right, but that would be speculation.

The indicative votes which have been asked for since December and even agreed to by May last week -though subsequently ignored in yet another U turn (or lie), could have helped. Certainly starting to work through the least favored options in January would have meant that some process & progress could have taken place. MPs might have had time to become inspired to follow a concensus as one would have probably appeared over three months.

Instead, May has run down the clock, in favor of her own idea/ vision. It is her idea and one she has already agreed with the EU. Its also a shite idea. Arguably it has caused more division than there was already. If May had any backbone or decency she would have resigned already.

  14. From SKY news

Gibraltar's chief minister Fabian Picardo believes revoking the UK's Article 50 notification is the only way "to take back control" of the Brexit process.

Wonder if others will follow along these lines ?

  15. Its a little difficult when the site crashes for more hours than its up & running. I glanced at the numbers at around 2am. Even then it was clocking up thousands of signatures.

    920,000 and going up fast!

  16. It wouldn't surprise me. Can't understand why the EU have not made it a condition to any changed timelines - would leave them with "clean hands" and push the decision back to UK Gov. UK Gov would have to find a form of words that upheld the decision of the 17m who voted leave.....get properly organised (new PM at least) and come back for a second attempt........

.........meanwhile, "Revoke A50" petition is gathering pace.....

  17. the next 8 days will see all kinds of sillyness to try and stop the legal process. To be expected but won't change anything
