Which is my experience and the bobbins don't turn. Where other manufacturers have round bobbins, I still maintain that the bobbins don't seize. You may be unable to turn cold bobbins but this does not mean anything is wrong - unless you put on a baseball cap and talk earnestly into a camera, for you are a YouTube star.
Under warranty with the extended 1 year probably went through around 6 sets of a OEM brembo discs. Dealer kept throwing discs at it but I wasn’t paying but concerned when warranty runs out. Before the end of the third year I went for MOT and guess what? Failed on the rolling road. Was that bad bike was jumping of the rollers. Quickly back to dealer and another set of discs ? Fantastic for around 600 miles! On every set tried the measured runout, bobbin clean , removed discs and wire brushed to remove pad marterial buildup. Purchased this to clean and did help https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brush-Research-BRMRMFH60Z25-Flex-Hone-Rotors/dp/B007INTEMC Even Dismantled calipers and cleaned, replaced calipers, tried another master cylinder. Even dismantled forks and had them checked. Went to torque racing and bought a thicker set of brembo discs - got around 1000 miles. Went back to torque racing and this time purchased a set of Grimica discs at reduced price as went bust. Anyway fine for around 2000 miles and then felt the problem returning. In the end I’d read about wheel hub runout and decided to purchase a second hand wheel. Now covered some 10k miles with the Grimeca discs before bike strip down and although I was starting to have same issues it’s not got any worse and passes MOT. Has cost a small fortune and I suppose lost on my 150k monster but I love my bike and want it right. Wished the dealer had sorted the problem rather than throwing sets of discs her but that’s another story.
I made no reference to youtube. The link that I provided was to a previous explanation of my own, based on my own personal experience, which I wrote on a similar thread. This was done simply to avoid having to write the whole damn lot out again. I find your response unnecessarily aggressive. I was only trying to help. Sort it out yourself then.
I wasn't having a go at you - just replying to you as the most relevant posting. I know that everyone is trying to help and I will have to sort it out myself. There is not clear answer, anyway.
When I got my 999, I was disappointed to find the brakes were less powerful than my much more basic SS brakes were. However, unseizing and decrudding the bobbins made a significant difference, as did freeing up the caliper pistons. The final step was to fit EBC HH pads. The brakes are now superb.
