Fuel tank breather tube fitted. Foolishly tried to brim the tank and ride it without a 1way valve fitted. Major brown trouser moment as the overflow tube goes down to the belly pan and dumps any fuel right in front of the back wheel. So got a symtec one way breather ordered and fitted. Too big to go near the tank so fitted it next to the L/H coil. The in and out pressures on the valve were quite high. Easy enough to blow into the tank but impossible to suck out of it so notched a small piece of O ring out of the filler cap to let pressure out. Done about 5 or 600 miles with it fitted and seems ok. Then got my hands on some Ti Termis. Just thought they looked better on the Bayliss rep. Dicked about with the exhaust can hangers for ages trying to get the height right but couldn’t. Looked a bit odd so ended up chopping the exhaust hanger down to lift the cans. Looks miles better with the cans tucked up.
that left can looks a smidgin higher than the right - get it fixed man!! BTW, very tidy looking with those Ti cans.
New front axle made up from T6 7076 alloy. 5mm wall thickness and 10mm longer then standard axle. Since fitting the Moto Corse fork bottoms, the std axle fell a bit short. Before Now
Corse Dynamics alloy header tank. Got a template from @Birdie to fabricate them. Might have a look a making a batch or maybe 10 if enough interest?
Ian, that header is special. If you are thinking of making your own like that I would be interested, I am on #4 of the plastic ones.
Ok, Andy. I’ll start getting a quote together. That one cost about £230 or something inc. the import tax so if I can make them for nearly half that, I think it’d be worth it.
Sorted. Found the tank which was painted with the body panels on the bike. 15mm offset discs fitted. Just the clutch master to rebuild and I reckon that’s it.
that is a cool bike!!!!!!!! i'll be up for a header tank if you do make some. had one go on the 748 and although moto rapido had em in stock for £35 ish? (was a while back) id rather not have the hassle again….
