I prefer the cooler lower down Dave,, I think above the head restricts air to the rear cylinder? I know Ducati must know what they've doing but I still prefer the lower look?
Here's some of the headlamp bracket. I couldn't see a better way of mounting it? It's on slotted brackets to adjust the beam, and I like it! Sorry about the pictures, they're cropped from the originals taken in bad light.
Great job, especially in such little time (in comparison to the glacial speed of my projects!). I like the fact you've stuck with the concept of the 'easily-removable-nose-thumbing-legal-concession-only' light fixing that the original bike drew so much criticism for, but that was in fact deliberately thought out to give the bike that aura of a number plated race track refugee. Do you know how much the bike weighs?

It does stick out, but I can't see another easy way of mounting it. Maybe if it doesn't work it'll be something to do next winter! That's why the only thing finished is the paint, and even that needs flatting back now it's hard! It'll always be an ongoing project ;-)

They're not snipers! A lot of the comments are from very experienced bike builders, so I'll listen to what they have to say. What I actually decide to do is down to me ;-)

I think the shape of the light and the connection method is not helping here - it's pretty much square whereas I have visions of a big pair of Cibie driving lights bolted to the front that were comparatively much flatter for their facial area, and the connection was easier to hide. See here: Most of the projector lights on endurance racers seem to be recessed (at least partially) into the fairing.
The Ducatis at the Bol d'Or were always very goggle-eyed, as if the lights were a real afterthought (as I am sure they were). I remember one year the well-placed Dukes had to retire because they couldn't get the lights to work properly. Oh how we laughed. Italian electrics, eh? Seems so typical of Italians to design a state of the art motorbike for 24 hours of non-stop thrashing and then fail to get a simple headlight to work. Oh OK, there were 2 of them.
