British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Then again, does grass grow that far north?

  2. Nothing grows that far North.

Except for the Night King's army, of course.

  3. Jeez, these Parliamentary debate vote thingies come so thick and fast I must have missed that one. When? Where? Who?

  4. That’s a great example of why we need the EU: they wouldn’t allow bananas to be that bent, let alone bamboos.

  5. No, only moss does.

  6. I can only remember an amendment that an extension should be sought?

  7. A couple days or so ago.

    The Remainer Citadel (Westminster).

A bunch of Remainer pond scum.

I am pleased and proud to have been able to assist you in this.

I do hope someone there has a sense of humour and on April 1st will stick their tongue out saying nah nah nah nah not really.

  9. It was agreed by the EU. So swiftly, it created a Black Hole. Not widely publicised, I might add. (The Black Hole bit)

  10. No, memes are OK, they're excluded.

  11. Excluded from what, Paul?

Art 13? Or current copyright law?

  12. Still can't find it Loz. I can find a vote on 14/3 approving a request to the EU to extend Exit Day to June 30th provided the WA agreement was approved by 20/3 (didn't happen). See https://www.parliament.uk/business/news/2019/march/house-of-commons-to-vote-on-article-50-extension/ As we all know the EU didn't permit an extension top 30/6 just 12/4 or 22/5 depending whether the WA was approved at MV3 or not.

I can't find info on any other vote having been held to extend Exit Day.

  13. The argument I have seen is that the granting of an extension by the EU to 12 April over-rides the UK 29 March because EU Law over-rides UK law. As weird as that sounds.

There is some doubt that the extension from the EU was legally obtained (eg, Hungary was excluded from the vote, amongst other issues) but it is widely accepted that the EU operates entirely independently of any internal laws that are meant to govern it.

I am not qualified to insist that my observations are correct - but wiser heads than mine (plus some loons, like Bercow) seem to agree with what I am saying. Or rather, they are the basis of what I am saying.

There is nearly nothing about this in the MSM, by the way, so if you are unaware of the wrangling that is currently going on, it is because you are relying on the MSM (and your own expertise) for information.

I am wishful that I will be proved wrong but not currently hopeful.

  14. You are either in the

    EU
    EEA
    EFTA

    or maybe some other grouping

Norway and Switzerland and not in the EU. They are in one or other of the EEA or EFTA.dont know which and don’t really care

  15. Still don’t know what you are getting excercised about.

We are leaving with no deal

    No time for anything else.

These votes are just MPs trying to look busy for the sake of looking busy

  18. Article 13 (which covers the use of protected content by online content sharing service providers) of the recent EU Directive on copyright. It specifically states:

5............Member States shall ensure that users in all Member States are able to rely on the following existing exceptions and limitations when uploading and making available content generated by users on online content sharing services:

    1. a) quotation, criticism, review,
    2. b) use for the purpose of caricature, parody or pastiche.
So memes will not cause the service provider to fall foul of the intended law.

Anyway, it's 'only' an EU directive, it doesn't become law in member states until the member state passes a law to give it effect and as the UK's leaving it won't be passed into law in the UK, or highly unlikely in the near future, anyway so we can all meme away to our heart's content :):)

  20. I understand that semantics is a difficult thing for you but some concepts cannot be simplified, no matter how much you yearn for it.

We can use coloured balls if you like? It won't help you to understand but we could at least play catch, or fetch or something. The exercise will be good for you!
