Looks like my Panigale R clutch explosion was worse than I had hoped. It seems to have stripped some of the gears of teeth since it has about 30 degrees of free spin before it engages in the first two or three gears plus plenty of clutch basket debris everywhere. The engine itself is all good as far as I know but can't confirm without cleaning it all up. Its going to be an engine strip, check and rebuild or a new second hand engine I reckon. I've got a £16k PCP balloon payment incoming in July which I have to deal with so if any one wanted to do a deal to save me the trouble of fixing it then please get in touch. I'm already speaking with a couple of people who are potentially interested in taking it as is but no commitments yet. I also have loads of extras and spares that will also be for sale or could go with it including full brand new Pani R Ohlins suspension, carbon fibre tank extension, DP body kit, spare rear Marchisini (sp?) wheel, couple of carbon fibre body kits with damaged panels, large box of spare clip ons, throttle, foot pegs, all the nuts and bolts, etc, etc. I'm just looking to clear the finance in the most efficient manner so open to ideas. I'll not be giving it away so please dont bother with silly offers since I could just refinance myself but will let it go for a reasonable amount to keep life simple! I have full documentation of all the bikes use. It has done the 600 mile road run in and then eight days on track in 2016, nine days in 2017, 3 days in 2018 and 3 days in 2019. Pretty much all of those days on track were two or three day euro type events. Oil has been changed every two track days using Motul 300V and the filter every couple of changes. The bike isn't a shiny show room bike as I bought it to use so has gone down a couple of times but you know what you are getting and I have a million photos and videos of everything it has ever done! I genuinely would not be selling it if I had not spent all my tax money on racing and the nasty tax man chasing me! I had a deposit down on the V4R that I had to cancel for the same reason. All the stock parts and body work (plus a load of random spares I've built up) have been stored in a box since the first service so all like new.
Hi @JoeC , yes mate thats fine. Hope you dont mind me sticking it up here as well; I know you are seriously interested so would not let it go without giving you first look.
Hey, I believe in a free market economy which cuts both ways so by that mantra I'm not obliged to buy it, ha ha! I'll pm my contact details.
Shit wheel decals are the future, stops scummers stealing your bike as it ruins their street cred. I know they look shit, but I kind of like them.
The one I looked at was not sure I could take the risk of every tom dick and Harry ragging the tits off it.
They will come down, its just time. The 1199R has and is still. Purists often want first edition, low miles over last edition regular miles. Like Dave's there will be a few due back under PCP and being chopped in for V4R, and there are loads of 1299FEs still about
I'm not sure about that. My dealer said most of the ones he sold were outright, not on PCP. Also there have never been many about, I can't see a glut appearing and prices are remaining solid. It's also generally recognised as being a far superior bike to the Gen 1, as proved by this thread. The 1299FE is an overpriced trinket bike and not a real R in my book as it didn't meet the criteria to race.
