Hi I am looking to buy a slightly / lightly used!!! Used 1260 PP. does anyone know of any up for sale ( I have looked on auto trader and eBay but only found one to date. Also are there demo bikes at any dealers as it seems impossible to try before buying even if one went down the new bike route! Cheers much appreciated. I am trading in a 2017 BMW s1000xr
you'll be lucky to find a PP to demo unless its a 2nd hand one and they are selling it. i just took a 1260S out for the day before plumping for the PP
Hi Fraser, I tried an S last weekend which was great ( better handling than my XR and I may still go down that route) . Which PP did you go for and why over the S? Cheers
Completely Motorbikes in Gloucester had a 2nd hand 1260 PP some months back, might have even been late last year. I very much doubt that it's still unsold though. IIRC it was around the price of a new 1260s.
I know this was for Frazer, but I can answer your question from my point of view. I chose the PP in lieu of the "S" because of the lighter Marchesini forged wheels, the carbon Termi and the very servicable Ohlins suspension. The bling of the PP was also a factor. I've also saved some weight by having the dealer swap the OEM lead-acid battery for a lithium unit.
yup, hear you mate. i've got a 2018 1260PP - had a 2014 version previously with monster R in between. to be honest, would take a better rider than me to really exploit the ohlins etc i just love the exclusivity and bling though the carbon screen on the PP is streets ahead of the rubbish buffeting you get on the S!
Horses for courses. If you frequently chop and change between 1 up and 2 up with or without luggage, the S makes much more sense. If you only ever hoon around 1 up, the Ohlins , properly set of course, is a very engaging ride Andy
Thanks for your feedback gentlemen, last thoughts what about the previous PP verses a 1260 S? Has anyone with the previous PP tried a 1260 S for comparison. There are a few 1200 PP's around but can't trace a used 1260 PP. I mainly do the solo hooning lol ( now retired so should start acting my age!) with one or two trips away each year. Need to decide soon as off to Spain in 5 weeks time Many thanks
looks like cambridge ducati selling a used 1260PP - for new 1260S money. but if between older PP and newer 1260S would go for 1260S
Allow me to be blunt. You have answered your own question in the aggregate of your posts. You only die once but you live every day. You're retired and ride solo. Buy the damn bike. You know which one.
I think they see you coming. You may get more leverage on a new one elsewhere. We're not getting any younger.
I took the S version out then came back and orders the Pikes Peak. Coming from a Panigale I was drawn to its sport roots and bling factor. The ohlins and wheels alone make it a great bike.
