Turned to join a busy carriageway. Tucked in. Head down. Accelerated. And nothing! Hahahah. Heart in my throat. My first ever ‘no fuel’ situation. I had managed 27miles from the second the fuel reserve light came on. More than anything it was embarrassing. Pulled up on the footpath. Whilst the drivers sat in the rush hour traffic were all gawking. Ouch. Took of my lid and walked the mile or so to the fuel station. Won’t be letting that happen again.
I left it on the foot path and walked to the petrol station. Was embarrassing enough walking with my lid, let alone the bike. Lol.
A valuable lesson learned. My girlfriend had a similar issue in the middle of Wales and the petrol station was 15 miles away. Thankfully there was a knight in shining armour, actually a Kawasaki 1400, who helped out. Andy
You were lucky. That happened to chap near me, his 1198 flaked out, when he got back with petrol his bike was gone!
27 miles on reserve... That is poo territory on a sports bike My wife doesn't understand it but years of sports bikes with no fuel gauge has meant I start looking for petrol stations when the car still has a 1/4 tank left
Yep... rubbish. I’m sure I’ll get more, but as it’s been my first few days of riding it, I’ve been cruising around mainly in 1-2nd gear. However, I’m not gonna experiment anymore. Lol
