British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Labour have had a few of these but I suspect the two major parties will have many more to come and rightly so. If you feel strongly enough your mp has let you down then you have to join the local party so you can have a say/vote.

The losing of a confidence vote doesn't mean the mp can be removed, it does however seriously undermine the relationship between the mp, their constituency group and the people of the mp's constituency.

Unless they have a vote to give the mp the confidence back, then should an election be called, that mp would be refused as that parties local candidate so in Grieves case, if an election was called tomorrow, another candidate for the tories of that parish would have to be found as grieve would have been deselected.

I suspect for many mp's this will bring an end to their career.

  2. If the House of Lords committee for SI’s decides not to report on the SI and therefore decides not put its report before the HoL then the SI doesn’t require approval by the HoL.

Other permutations are available, from memory.

  6. Or channel 4 news. John snows funny white people comment aside, he said police are wearing riot gear as the camera panned round and none of them were and though mentioning arrests, he said we cannot confirm if any arrests had been made.

  14. There was brief reference in the MSM News to the Extension being voted on and agreed by MPs.

I believe that this somehow, magically, made the extension lawful.

I gather that the extension is being legally challenged and the contention is that we left the EU at 2300GMT 29 March 2019.

Mind you, we never legally joined the EU in the first place ... so pick the bones out of that!
