899 Steering Damper Washer

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Kage, Apr 1, 2019.

  1. I’ve lost one of the washers from my stock steering damper on my 899. I’ve phoned a couple of dealers, but they have told me the washers are not a separate part and come as part of a kit with the complete unit.

Does anyone happen to have one kicking about?

  2. Not sure how fussed you are but from what I recall any old washer will do. I run an ohlins damper on the 959 and I just use the one half with the insert combined with an o-ring underneath. Stops it flapping around too much but still allows it to do its job. Can't really see it on this parts diagram but I will have a look around and see if I have any of the originals lying around in a nut and bolts tub. https://shop.oemducati.com/en/produ...le-/semimanubri---ammortizzatore-di-sterzo--1

  3. Thanks for your reply scrawnsenior.

I think the washer needs a flat surface and a slightly raised section on the inner section on the other side to prevent the damper getting clamped fully to the frame.

Not sure what to do. I just neee to be lucky in finding a replacement I think.

  4. If you can take measurements from another or can post one to me, I can make one.

  5. That would be wonderful Final Edition.

PM your address and I’ll send my only one over to you.

    Thanks you so much.
