In that case I might just hold on to it for the time being and see how things are in the Autumn. You never know I might get a month's use out of it at the end of the year.
Stannie, Just my humble opinion, but if i was in your shoes, i would keep it, store it, and love it again later in the year! With the weather like it is at the moment,i have no doubt that come November,we will be basking in glorious sunshine!! I have had my 999 in the garage since October on an Optimate. I start it every so often and let it go through the heat cycle and have had no problems. Hope all goes well for you health wise!!
Did Kais lower it for you? I'd hang on to it (unless you need the money). How else are you gonna come on one of our rideouts if you sell it?
Yes Kai's lowered it and sorted out the suspension at the same time. I am going to hang on to it for now I think. I don't NEED the money (although it is always useful) Hope to see you on a ride out some time at the end of this year or beginning of next.
Strangely enough Mrs DD has been thinking about an 848 for a while now, she is 5' 2" and she too would have to have it lowered.
I think at 5'2" it will have to be lowered a LOT. I am 5'4" and it is still touch and go at some junctions. The biggest problem was the stretch to the bars - I got heli-bars which have helped, but It is still a bit of a stretch.
IMHO i think its a +ve having it lower, not everybody is 5ft 9 or above. There are plenty of people put off buying such a bike as they're too small to feel comfortable on stock height settings.
I'll second that. I'm not able to ride until 2014 due to injuries, but I'm keeping both my 900ss ie and CBR 600 FN. I keep them both on optimate type battery conditioners, have pumped the tyres up to 40 psi and put them up on paddock stands. With a decent cover on them they will be fine. A mate of mine is going to ride both of them a few times over summer, in fact I've just re taxed the Ducati today, as I move house in two weeks, and it will be ridden to the new house.
