I have an 1198s very slow starting. I believe there is a heavy duty starter lead kit. Can anybody advise me where to purchase one from please.
You can make a cheap but effective set up from Halfords leads. However the loveliest way is to use @Exige cables
Thumbs up for the Exact Start kit from Stu, starting performance transformed from sluggish to super quick. Well worth the money.
How old is your battery? I ask because if you don't know its age then a battery and the far better cables from exi will be a great improvement
I had an American kit fitted to my bike and have just replaced it with one of Exige's kits - soooo much better...
I've run Lithium batteries on all my bikes including my 1098. No problems in many, many years. Start instantly. Still worth having a lithium specific trickle charger on them though.
My son's 1098 was a slow starter and slowly got worse. It turned out that water had got into the starter solenoid and corroded the contacts. A new solenoid fixed it. I dismantled the old one, cleaned it all up and reassembled it such that water couldn't get in and have been using it for the last 18 months or so on my 907ie.
