British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

  4. I know right, never mind all this Scotland loves europe nonsense, I'd rather they were honest and say , hey you fuckers, our factories need filling. You could respect that :D

  5. True, can’t argue with that.

Wonder how they are doing with the petition to dismiss her?

  6. I can't, I think I have had a crash course in EU realities but have always thought the only way to leave is to leave. Ideally as soon as article 50 had been invoked the UK would have started preparations for leaving, but they didn't - they started preparations for not really leaving but pretending they had.

There seems to be a few leavers who are happy / willing to accept that leaving with a deal is better than remaining, personally I don't see the difference.

  7. yip, and to maximise on it, we should end free movement.
horses for courses init. the EU has been good for us.

  8. What sort a deal were the Brexit Leavers expecting when only half the country supported it? What would be reasonable? Soveriegnty and an end to freedom of movement?

I agree some Remainers are the same - lets see how well this sense of personal outrage does in helping them achieve anything.

  11. That I can't answer, I've never been able to see how they could come up with a deal that satisfies Leave / Remain and the EU - which surely it would have to do ?

The only way to achieve a final end to this, in my opinion, is to either Leave without a deal or revoke article 50, whether or not they have a referendum.

  12. @Jez900ie is think i see what you mean about compromise, but on some issues there is no compromise.

  13. Alan have you never had a situation in your life that did not end up in a clear win or loss?

  14. Is this a reference to the 2016 Referendum?
More than half of the electorate supported Brexit. Much more than half, if you factor in the voters who did not vote but instead were happy for others to make the decision on their behalf.

    You have no idea!

  15. Thinking like that won't get you far on resolving the problem. The Arabs and the Jews think like that. The French and the Brits used to.

  16. This was discussed before but I don't remember the result.

Is this "heresy" or "hearsay" or some smashing combination of both?

  17. Yeah, Alan.

The last time you left the EU to become independent - what did you do?

  18. Other opinions are available, but that ^ is undeniable
