got home a few hours ago and its still in the van.... too depressed to look.. mate is coming over in the morn to help unload and I will see what I can see and talk to mechanic... back to the mad rush of trying to get it sorted before Silverstone … more money, more running around/time off work.. shit happens I know and we all have probs... doesn't make it any easier though... it sucks arse as the weather turned out pretty good.. I don't even care about the costs just gutted to wait so long and fail so early in the day...
id like to say seeing everyone else have fun was good.. but it wasn't!!! lol nice to meet a few more faces though and big thanks to @NoGutsNoGlory for very kindly lending me his tire warmers..
I'm not sure about this "drive by" noise check. My mate runs a R1, standard exhaust with baffles, he prefers it like that so he doesn't have any hassle with the noise police. When we get static tested at Oulton, his bike normally blows 92db. My GSXR runs a full Akrapovic race system with no baffle, it normally blows 100db static, guess which one of us got black flagged for noise!!!! I really think it was a case of mistaken identity, but it really pissed him off & the official was a bit of an arse, probably because he was quite forcefully pleading his innocence!! They didn't have a static meter to test him, which was a poor show as it would have proved his point.
Therein lies the problem probably I've been blacked flagged at a few places for noise, and being polite and nice to them goes a long way to me getting to ride again Donington Drive-by has always been a funny one as it's in about the right place for a whole group of bikes to be coming out the corner together on full throttle, and a group of bikes will always throw up a big number

When I got black flagged i must've had the "good cop" noise Marshall! He looked at my Akra cans and I knew I was done for.... I gave him the best sad look I could (through my helmet!) And said....Don't worry mate I'll call it a day now then... He said not to worry...just put it in wet mode next time... Didn't even give me the black marker on my sticker at the front!

Remember I got the van, if you find some reason the bike needs to come north for repair or whatever I’m often in London can collect and drop it off for you, I’m in London on Sunday but then off straight abroad
