They take all the slack out of the twist action of the throttle. It’s one of my personal pet hates with any bike and was so pleased to hear when test riding a 1299 for the first time that the mod is readily available. 2 simple to fit spacers ( took me literally less than 5 minutes ) and now that vagueness has gone completely Biggest benefit is instant throttle response when turning in and feeding in the power when cornering, without having to prempt the slack, and also pulling away is a lot smoother too. One of those things you can kind of ride around if you have to but .... I now don’t have to. Best £30 mod I believe I / you will ever do Hope that helps Moose
