China and the u.s. are countries, the eu is trying to be a country at the expensive of 28 countries. It was a direction many said thanks but no thanks. The British more than most know what it is to have an empire and have learnt a lot from it. The fact we want to move away from a european empire should be no surprise for anyone who has understood 20th century european history. The U.K. isn't looking to be king of the castle anymore and if others want that life then it's upto them
I am a 66 year old retired Company MD. My apprenticeship and introduction to Engineering/industry was with Rolls Royce (if you ignore 17 years being brought up in my family's building business) and I continued learning until achieving (late 80s and 90s) the position of Group Chief Engineer for a VERY large multi-national food manufacturer, building and operating Circa.35 large factories in UK and across the globe incl. China, Brazil, Australia, France, Spain, NL, Poland & Hungary (both before their joining the EU), Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Finland, Denmark.....blah blah (....it was FTSE 100 BIG). The last 15 years of my working life, I started and ran my own successful consulting Ltd. Co., again operating internationally e.g. EU, Middle East, E.Europe (the bit that's still not EU) & Far East........ So I do know a little bit about how international trade works. I note that of all the people who say I'm stupid/uneducated, or too old to have a valid opinion, or I didn't know what I was voting for, or I was suckered by 'Leave campaign' lies, or I'm racist, or I'm all of a swoon over returning to the good old days of Empire........or any other of the plethora of insults for which I've been the target because I voted to leave the EU...anyway, I note.. that not one of those people have come to my door and said it to my face. Every day, my 4 dogs squat to provide my fresh response, should any of them decide now is the time to rectify that

Also interested in what conclusions you came to with respect to what manufacturing will have to do, now it can no longer rely on just in time deliveries that won’t incur additional cost? At present many companies are moving to holding stock of components, which is obviously more expensive.
There are no consequences unless the EU put a border up and they said they wouldn't. Also even if they were going to put a border up, this would be due to remainer MP's and their actions over the last 2.5 years colluding with the EU for us not to leave. The way our remainer MP's have handled the last 2.5 years is nothing to do with the results of the Brexit referendum result, it's a consequence of their undemocratic actions of which you support
I think you will find I believe in democracy and have said many times that we should have left by now. But you keep in “believing” what suits your agenda. Like your belief that there won’t be a hard border between the U.K. and the EU. And your belief the EU will cave on the Irish border. Your belief that they will re open the GFA? Maybe you have changed your position on those? My opinion that we would leave on 29/3 was based on the fact that it’s what the law said and therefore it was the right thing to do. It’s what the PM promised and she should have honoured her word. But she didn’t. She is Treason May. Can I make it any clearer for you?
