Labour candidates campaigned in many cases on the promise to deliver Brexit. It is up to those who were elected on this premise to not stand in the way of Brexit. Oh. And: The electorate voted for Brexit because Bojo has blond hair and the streets were to be paved with pirate gold. Don't you dare tell me that Leavers don't know what they voted for!
This forum is full of vote leave folk that think the EU should bend over and accept every request of the U.K. The arrogance. We voted to leave Take back control Do things ourselves On our own Make our own laws Our own way We don’t want to accept EU laws We want to reject the way they do things That’s what we voted for. Why then do you guys want to leave the borders open and let everything they produce in when in the future they won’t comply with our laws, we made ourselves? How is that taking back control?
The trouble with the above is quite simply that people don’t vote labour, they vote for the candidate. And a great many candidates said they didn’t believe in Brexit. Chukka and Soubray being two. It was on their election leaflets. Just like the Labour MP Murray who stood on an anti Trident manifesto while his party were pro trident. It’s why he kept his seat
I haven't seen anyone here expecting the EU to bend over. I've read a few folks express the opinion that a FTA benefits the EU more than the UK and thus the EU is a little nutty not seeking one but those folks are: a. not expecting the EU to bend over and b. appear not to understand the real purpose of the EU I have read a few opinions to the effect that the EU was never going to offer a deal to the UK that was in the UK's interests to accept. So I don't know where you are getting some of your ideas from. And people who have been following the NI/EU issue aren't talking about an open border between the EU and NI. They are talking about not having physical stop/search checkpoints on the border, something upon which the EU, the EU's pet "Ireland" and the UK all appear to be agreed upon. So I think maybe, 749er, start taking it with water or some sort of mixer, in future?
Haha. I see what you're doing now. LOL. You got me. Kudos. Anyway. For those watching, I believe that most constituencies vote for the Party and not the candidate. There's ample logical argument in support of this hypothesis. There will be exceptions, but these will be infrequent and statistically unimportant.
the UK gov is only my Gov in certain areas. very are which isn't reserved is devolved. that was the conditions of the 1998 devo vote which got a big majority. its more popular now than ever. tho, tbf, brexit has put a strain on it its not a tiered system. but if you wanna talk tired system and not fit for purpose, your referring to the uk FPTP and the unelected 2nd chamber. I knows it, mostly because this thread is full of comments from brexiteers saying it, including yourself. and you don't spend your days on here lying and twisting do you? the interweb and news archives are full the reasons why, on the days before 18/09/14 when the polls where sitting at 54% for yes the UK gov came up here on mass, and made a pile of promises that never came to pass, including dismissing the warnings coming from the Yes side that rUk was heading for an eventual Brexit as bollox. defend that if you can. the Scot Gov did and does accept the result. they put forward suggestions and compromise positions, they requested a roll in the process, the requested certain powers be devolved to cope with the specific needs of our economy, immigration ect. all rejected. they have no choice but use democracy, and in some cases the courts, to do what they are elected to do. the vote and what we where voting on. what's net reserved is devolved. i remember it quite clearly, i was there. its called democracy sunshine. I understand you confusion, you cant remember what you post in one thread when commenting on another. some might just call that trolling. hayho, ether or, who cares. every time they get elected, by the people for the people. tougherooney. that's how it works. if the UK Gov made an arse of it and has got you and others frothing at the mooth over these issues, or more likely have educated you in a certain way to get you frothing (its what the tory of the last 40 years do) while leading you up the garden path, then meh, take it up with them. . anyways, I have zero intention of spending my day arguing with a fud, whose contry improved immeasurably while being part of the EU, who then wants to take it away from others, for spurious (immigration) reasons. its another belter of a day init? btw, if any of yous are doing the NW500, I recommend stopping off at Smoo Cave, I also recommend the clan chiefs way of dealing with the less honest within you in the same way they did with Westminsters Custom and Excise men back in the day. that will learn em.
Johnson and the Telegraph outed as printing lies... and then claim it was a joke. https://www.scotsman.com/news/polit...65P_EXx3KV5NATRWT2DeMtVkjPxDj9f9q9nZfFUYqhZSw
It might be more effective and practical - certainly less frequent- to make announcement when Johnson isn't lying?
*NEWSFLASH* Politician and National Newspaper found to be lying. In other news, Day found to follow Night. Authorities "baffled".
The snp government often see's majority democratic peoples votes as spurious when they don't get what the snp want. damm voters
ipso disagreed with him, did they fine him? you could just as easily lay claim to the amount of remainers who say brexiteers have changed their mind
