So what have you done today..?

  1. I was there today too sorting my fencing. Christ that gate post was a git to bury. 1200mm deep and ludicrously heavy as 200mm wide. Managed to get most of it done but the next bit has a gas pipe in the vicinity so has to be hand dug... carefully

  6. Experienced a genuine surreal moment this afternoon. The background is my Carole started experimenting with curing her own bacon towards the end of last year and as she was so successful, I bought her a demonstration /instruction day with our local artisan charcuterie and salumi producer for her Christmas present. I rocked up at the shop to collect her this afternoon at the end of the course to be greeted by the guy who runs the charcuterie business and find out we were in the same OND Engineering class at tech college 50 years ago. He remembered that I used to ride a Norton 650ss and the curry nights we used to have with a mate, Lulluth Gunawadina, who used to order a Phall with extra chillies. It’s a small world. Andy

  7. Went delivering and collecting, did a circuit of the Triglav national park which involves popping in and out of Italy, crappy weather but stunning scenery highly recommended on a bike but not a sports bike it’s doable of coarse but it’s more of an upright type bike road so many sharp corners

  9. My fault for not putting it down fully, and then thinking "why's this sidestand suddenly got so much lean", before getting off to investigate and having it fall on me

  10. Had an early(ish) morning ride up to the cafe for breakfast on the SPS thinking the sun would bring plenty of others out only to find it was pretty much deserted. Had a quick blast round some nice curvy roads before heading back, only did about 50 miles total but nice to get it out again, not ridden it since last summer:eek:

  12. Gonna wash the (Company) car as I'm taking it back tomorrow as I've bought my own car recently.

7º outside, should be enjoyable. :cold_sweat:

  16. Well this morning I was meant to be meeting @bettes then going to Hollingworth Lake to meet @Carr01 and a few other people to then ride to hawes.

So first thing I get the Diavel out of the garage. As I was getting ready I looked down at the rear tyre and saw a screw in it  I’ve only done 450 miles on the bloody thing so I was a tad pissed off. Still, at least I saw it whilst the bike was in the drive and not 100 miles away on some desolate moor.

So I put the Diavel back in the garage and out came the Scrambler 1100 Sport and I headed of to meet @bettes. Jesus Christ it was cold!!

I got to Outlane and it was snowing! So we headed to his house and had a coffee. We then decided it’d be a good idea to go to Squires instead. We should have gone home cos it was Baltic! Got to squires and there were hundreds if not thousands of bikes there to do an Easter egg run. :)

Once they’d gone we went inside for a coffee and bacon sandwich :upyeah:

After an hour or so (getting warm again) we left to go home and the temperature had risen a couple of degrees so it wasn’t as bad thank Goodness.

Got home to a message that Martin from Ducati Manchester would call round this afternoon to pick the Diavel up to take it in and get a new rear tyre. And he’s just left with it in the back of his van. Great service once again from Ducati Manchester!!

And now I’m going to lay on the sofa and stay warm :upyeah:

  17. Bad luck with the tyre, probably out of one of the builders van round your way!
A bacon butty and a cup of tea would have gone done well, it was bloody freezing!

  18. Today I rode my 450 Scrambler to the Dainese store in Commercial Street at 11am, followed by the Bike Shed in Old Street at 12 noon. Met up with Gaetano M and Iain M, had a bite of lunch and a cider. Pleasant ride home in the spring sunshine.
