Not at all, unless you swallow all the twatter marketing chat, and there is zero of that for the SS deliveries.
Id still love one....its a tough thing....he (Stuart Garner) cant really win...one hand he needs the money to build the bikes but if everyone is pulling deposits then its not going to sit well with investors. Has he come clean about why theyre not rolling out of the door yet??
"IF" i had the money for a deposit - bit of a trust thing but id pay it and its a case of when it turns up...it turns up....if this was my only bike then itd be another story but, something like this would be in addition to one or more i already had...
Been keeping an eye on this ongoing thread as it seems to be the only source of information and discussion anywhere on the net in relation to the ever mysterious V4 ? I had put my deposit down on an RR over 2 years ago, and with the start of each new year i'm filled with optimism and excitement that come spring/summer that that illusive V4 would at long last be sitting next to my 1199 Tricolore. But as the Biking Season would start to draw near that optimism would start to evaporate and disappointment & frustration would set in! The start of this year was no exception and yet again things seem to be taking there usual course!
I put a deposit down December 2016. It will be ready summer 2017 It will be ready autumn 2017 It will be ready Spring 2018 It will be ready summer 2018 It will be ready autumn 2018 Upgrade to SS Jan 2019 It will be ready March 2019 It will be ready April 2019 It will be ready May 2019 March had enough ask for full refund Give them a 24th March deadline No response for two weeks Threaten them with legal action No response Solicitor sends letter giving them 2 weeks No response Solicitor sends winding up order 2 weeks later they payup with interest and legal costs!! Barmy!!!
That’s not good. It seems to me they’re ignoring the issue of a refund hoping it’ll go away. However, the winding up order got their attention. At least you got your money back + costs
Remember watching "Norton Motorcycles Factory Tour With John McGuinness (Bet Victor)" on the net not long ago. It was interesting reading some of the comments, namely one from "Biketwat" and said reply's to his comment.
@Gee Jay that's why I started the thread, couldn't find any info, and to be honest there still isn't much floating about. @Christopher Lang thanks for mentioning that fb page, I wasnt aware of it so have just joined to have a read. It does read as if the first 12 were actually taken in December, with a few names on there posting pics etc out on their bikes. Reading the page actually makes me feel a bit better. Only got as far as your post on 1st feb so far though
yeah, thanks Chris. I'm reading the threads chronologically, and its interesting to see how some of their stories change over time. Equally interesting to see how 3 or 4 people all jumped ship around the same time (early march). Finally caught up to date. Like your last exchange with Clint and John
Have started deleting things as they have now paid up.However if it continues I will continue posting the facts! Whatever you decide to do I hope it works out for you!!
I'm hanging on in there, I don't think they're going anywhere soon, if they do they'll be bought and bankrolled the marque is ripe for someone to add to the portfolio. Even if the SuperLight is ready for the end of summer which I doubt, I'll defer until 2020 plate anyhow.
I've no axe to grind but not commenting any further closes the door, rather than deleting old posts that may help others.
