Guys thinking of getting a multistrada second hand looking at 2012 to maybe 2017 what things should I look for or what advice would anyone give as regards model and spec . Thanks in anticipation
so the Poll gives the same two options? What are your main uses for the bike? Two up? Single use? Panniers? Budget? a little more info would help/
Not sure but I think the 2012 model PP has the Skyhook suspension which was discontinued with the arrival of the DVT in 2015. Now they are Manual Ohlins. Many say they prefer the Ohlins over Skyhook. I am not one of them as I often change setting on the fly. Varying road conditions etc. I was ready to put a deposit down in 2017 for the PP but when they told me it no longer had Skyhook I bought a 1200s instead.
I just bought a 5.0 Ftype jag & the guys with the smaller engine models have just said the same as you. You may also want to have look at the newer PP models front fork history of leaking seals. 2 1/2 yrs into the S & so far 100%. Or did you simply mean the Ohlins are cheaper to rebuild.
Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, Ducati electrical gremlins are not uncommon ... As my recent experience with a stuck starter solenoid proved.
It’s a different kind of era for electrical gremlins. Bikes are now CANBUS equipped and when something goes wrong then you need to get hooked up to diagnostics.
