I didn't say it wasn't - just the ad says what it says No reserve - could go cheap, but I guess he will protect the price and withdraw if needed - looks a good bike tbf
I am mate but its a lil far and a lil more mileage than what we want... have a budget of 5.5k so think we can do better... doubt we will match the one we got off nelly but should get something close.. I have to, the youngest bro also happens to be the biggest and I don't want to upset him!!
One of the big dilemmas when "restoring" a bike, is where to stop or what is the aim to be more precise. IMHO if going to be used there is no point in going all the way to "concours" level. Considering is a 20 years old bike with 20k miles on the clocks, I would say reasonable conditions. I am going to bid on this bike...checked the MOT history no major issues.
Thanks Are these really 198kg dry as per below? https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ducati/ducati_748sp 95.htm
At c.£4k ono it’s the best value for money one I’ve seen advertised but you’re right, with a budget of 5.5k you’ll get a newer, lower mileage one. Anyhow, if you need me to take a look at it for you just ask.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303132453530?ul_noapp=true Not a 748SP IMO but could end up being a bargain for someone. Old style, sought after, Ducati Racing wheels, albeit wrong colour, Ohlins shock, 853 engine. It looks like it just needs a bit of TLC.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/223485949026 This one was around late last year, sure it had correct fairing graffics last time.
748sp didn’t come in a biposta. Perfectly possible the owner fitted a biposta subframe and seat but not sure why, if you weren’t going to fit pillion foot pegs. Temperature gauge glass cracked and why fit a kph clock to replace what would have been mph ? The only other 748sp with an 853 conversion I have seen where the rear sprocket nuts were wire locked was mine which was built for and ridden on the track. Not really surprised the listing has had no bids. Andy
I don't believe it is an SP. I think it's an early BP that's had some parts added. Timing is not great for me at present but if I had the cash available I'd be tempted to buy it, at the right price, give it the TLC it needs, return it to original and sell it on.
