whilst fitting the engine guard by evotech, I wrongly undid a screw holding a plastic sensor on to the engine. Oil started to pour out, not much but my oil Glass is now at the bottom for level, the bike was serviced before I got it and hasn’t been used since the service. Should I top it up and with what grade of oil?
It will be in your owners manual page 331 and is listed as Shell advance 4t ultra 15w-50 fully synth. Personally I'd top it up but only to about the half way mark.
Oly; Be careful as it's very easy indeed to overfill it and be sure to follow the advice regarding warming-up etc. I know from my own over-filling experience....
The branding is a paid for advert. You can use any 15w-50 fully synthetic oil. I recommend 300V motul racing motor oilage'
The difference between the lower and upper limit in the glass is no more than 300ml. Don't overdo it ...
Oly, I posted this same question in another thread, but had oil come out of cylinder head when loosening left bolt in pic below. Is that the same one you had oil come out of?
When you remove that cover the screws should screw out the bolt that goes into the head. If the whole lot starts spinning you need to try and hold the main part. You can see it has a hexagonal on it for a spanner, not sure how easy that is to access with the cover fitted though.
