i bought a paddock stand for the rear of my 848 that goes through the rear axle. I assume I will be able to use it on my monster r too. However, I’ve ordered a spindle bobbin (evotech if it matters) for the bike so obviously the stand will no longer go through the rear axle. What do others do in this situation? I want to be able to lift the rear to more easily clean and lube the chain.
ABBA stand on mine.... got the front and rear wheel ‘lifter’ arms for the ABBA as well, but only really use them when over-wintering the bike, as it keeps both wheels off the floor and you can spin the bike about - like you can on the 1Jac. Being honest tho, using them is a bit too much off a faff doing it each time after a ride out.
I use a pair of ratcheting axle stands, which fit under the bobbins and have a concave upper surface, so they engage pretty well. If I want to work on the left side of the bike, I can put the ratchet on the lowest position and lean the bike onto the r/h bobbin. If I want to have the bike vertical and level, I simply use both stands under the bobbins. If I want to lift the back wheel, I rock the bike onto one slightly raised stand and slide the other one under the other bobbin. Works for me.
