  2. Wow, nice to see that level of craftmanship. Everything is 'so digital' these days it's amazing there's anyone left doing this kind of work.

    Good find :upyeah:

  6. Outstanding. I'm a graphic designer so can appreciate his commitment.

  7. Thanks for the post Greyman. I have the album (and all of JM's work) and took the cover completely for granted. Would love one of David Smiths framed works but they must cost a fortune!

  8. So do mine............

Not as much as others, though.....

  9. For me it's the depth of the work, it's relatively easy!!! to conceive of an idea and translate it to paper via whatever medium. But this guy takes it to a whole new level with the old school skills to translate it into something utterly tangible.

I'm not a huge JM fan, I have Heavier Things which I quite like moments of and some others that got burnt and haven't seen the light of day since. If I see Born and Raised (vinyl) in the flesh no doubt I'll be tempted but only on the strength of the artwork. I have listened to it via Spotify and again it's OK in places, just a little too twangy for my tastes. A bit AverageOrdinaryRock yee-ha ...

It seems a shame that he's gone corporate but I guess he's got bills to pay as well - another slave to the Sony machine.

I can think of other Artists who I'd rather he'd worked with -

For me it's a case of great bottle - so-so wine

  10. This is an extract from an album cover I did a long time ago....
