Should I Buy This Evotech Crash Protection Stuff?

Discussion in 'Monster' started by dubcat, Apr 24, 2019.

  1. Hi, picking up my first ever Monster, a 1200 r, on Friday! I was thinking of buying a bunch of Evotech stuff.

Is it worth buying this stuff? Any better options out there? Any of this not worth buying? It adds up to a lot of wonga (those prices don't include VAT or delivery)! :scream:

  2. EP stuff is quality and works. Crash tested mine, solid performance and prevented damage. On a plus note they sell spares too.

  3. Compare the cost of even a minor off to the cost of the Evotech kit. If nothing else the radiator and oil cooler guards are IMO, essential. Andy

  5. Ok ordered it all. £650 for the lot shipped - I feel a bit sick Reckon I’d feel a lot worse after dropping the bike without this though. Hopefully I’ll never need to use it.

  6. Did you order it from Conquest Racing ? They give forum members a discount and are a top company to deal with.

  8. How much discount do they give?

  9. 10% - you have to message them through the forum.

I told Evotech last night to cancel the order but they shipped it this morning :( It's a MASSIVE saving going to conquest.. like REALLY big.

  10. Every time I have bought direct from evotech I call them on their freephone and ask for a discount code, I always get 10% from them.

  11. Thanks guys - have agreed a price that's £30 higher than what i could have got it from conquest for .. but still a LOT lower than i initially paid.

  12. The cost of the EP parts will be forgotten by the time you've fitted them... they're really good and if you drop / slide the bike you'll realise you'd have paid twice that and still saved your bike / money. :)

Also they're far nicer looking than the R&G equivalent, which always look a bit... shellsuit.

  13. How do you get a forum discount code? Or is it best just to contact them.
    Cheers

  14. The rad guard is a must. The first time you get a stone thru one, you might wish you had. It happens always at worst place. Middle of goddamned exmoor for me, miles from my B&B, with dark approaching and with a dark visor. AA Man did his best to temp fix me up. But I still had to do 50m thru the lanes at night with no visor. My eyes!!!

  15. Send them a private message on the forum to get the discount

  16. Yep got the Evotech rad and engine guard + tail tidy on mine. Looks the biz, as well as offering great peace of mind. Know what you mean about cost of blinging it at the same time as buying the bike tho. I Did the same when I bought my ex demo..as well as the Evotech, added the Termi pipes, ASV levers, Oberon bar end mirrors, carbon heatshield, comfort seat etc. Needed a stiff drink afterwards.....but got it the way I wanted it, and it still makes me smile every time I look at it in the garage !! Like others have said, you’ll soon forget the costs ! Go enjoy....
