Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  1. Which bit of Noobie’s post is ‘Wrong as usual’ as your amplification doesn’t contradict or refute what he said?

  3. I suppose I could, but as the Glasgow riots were introduced to the discussion on page 1602 that would probably be a poor use of several hours of my time.
More convenient would be if @749er gave a clue as to what he thought was wrong in the Noobie post he quoted from?

  4. What I find astounding is the fact the UK is currently facing it's biggest crisis for decades, if not centuries, and with the clock ticking, everything is put on hold whilst Parliament goes on fecking holiday and are still on holiday - sorry, in recess! Even this thread has gone quiet as a result.

  5. I expect there’ll be some comment tomorrow after the polling stations close.

  6. Stiff upper lip old boy, one has to use recess in classic divide and conquer tactics, as well as giving time for the plebs to forget what all the fuss was about...……

  7. I wanted to rate that one funny and agree but had to settle for just funny. A bit like Brexit I suppose, compromises are going to have to be made.

  8. Absolutely, and if Brexit didn't have a slightly serious side it would be hilarious

  9. tbh, i blame myself for going with the rush wiki job.
i guess you have two opptions if your interested. you could just roll with noobs reading of it, or go with the historian tom Devine's take.
    which i posted after.

  10. Don't expect to see much of a Lib/Lab/Con arse kicking in the Local Elections. Brexit Party has nobody standing for them and UKIP only have a few.

  11. True: the Euro Elections are likely to be much more entertaining in that respect.

  12. I think Batten said they had 1600,(television interview).

  13. What part was I wrong on exactly?

Which would be funny fin, had I not quoted the wiki link that YOU put forward on the matter :D however nothing I quoted was incorrect and that is why 749er will not be providing any evidence to support his claim, he's a cockwomble :D

  14. aye, go with wiki, i figure your more of a Sydney Devine kinda guy tbh, but i will go with Tom. cheers. :upyeah:

  16. Tories taking a pasting then. :D

And the LibDems the big winners...even in supposed Leave areas. Looks like the Nation no longer wants Brexit.

    Tell you what..let's have a referendum.:D:joy:

  17. Put another way , both main parties have had a well deserved battering, if you don't vote for one of them then it only leaves the Liberals or Greens so they're bound to increase there vote, I think the Liberals have only recovered there vote back to where it was a few years ago, so no real swing towards them.

  18. The two main parties have had a kicking because the haven't delivered Brexit, not because people want to remain.

  19. It doesn’t look great for Labour either.

Mostly, the seats up for election in England were last contested in the 2015 local elections, on the same day as the general election of that year.

if you add the swing now to the swing then, the Conservatives have now lost most of the GAIN from 2015, but Labour have again lost councillors, and the Lib-Dems have not yet reversed their loss in 2015.

So not great results for any of the three main parties.

The move away from UKIP May be a result of BREXIT having been promised, or a protest against who they now associate with?

Edit: only about half of the councils have declared yet.

    Been there: Done that.
