  1. Hi everyone,Im a first time Ducati owner,I bought a 2005, 749s last week,it was in fantastic condition, picture 1☺loaded the duke in the van and faced the 3hr journey back home with a huge smile on my face,Then the unimaginable happened,5 minutes into my journey someone decided to pull out in front of me,breaks on to avoid a collision, then I hear the BANG,oh no my pride and joy ,a ratchet strap let go in the back and the bike fell over pic 2 ,so im looking for advice on where to buy genuine parts to get it back to its former glory, hope my story is not to drawn out,any advice would be appreciated Screenshot_20190429-084427.png IMG_20190427_170547.jpg IMG_20190427_170547.jpg IMG_20190427_170507.jpg

  2. Welcome Drogduke, another one from the Emerald Isle :upyeah:

What a bummer. You’re best bets are
    eBay
    Ducati Rosso, Dublin
On here in Wanted section and 749 section

On eBay there’s an outfit, whose name escapes me at present, based in Holland; they have new OEM and 2nd hand parts at good prices.

    I feel for you.

  4. Hello and welcome dude... real shame the damage done and I hope you get it sorted no prob...
Seems to me a bit of a strange way to strap the bike though... or maybe not...
I've just always done and seen bikes strapped downwards to compress the forks a bit, having a strap pulling it up would make it unstable as fook...
Or am I missing something? ( I usually am)

  5. Usually I would say "Welcome and enjoy", but that would seem a bit mean. Welcome to the forum and hope you get your pride and joy restored soon so that you can get out and about and enjoy it!

  6. Ouch, looks like a nasty one, 2nd hand spares is the only way, new parts in this case will cost a fortune. If I had to guess 2nd hand will cost about £200 for a nose cone, about £50 for a headlight fairing support, £75 for a mirror/indicator, £50 for a screen with park light. Hopefully the dash still works and is just the cover that you might be able to repair yourself. The dash is linked to the ECU and has the immobiliser coding paired so if you need another dash then it could add another few hundred pounds to the cost as there are 2 ways of getting around the immobiliser issue.

Ducati 999 parts fit too by the way.

  7. Ouch.

I think @JoeC had a screen for sale?

I have a fairing support you can have for postage costs.

The fairing will be easy enough but most used will need a respray.

Mirrors are expensive and tricky to find.

    Clocks will be the bitch.

Plus there is a bike breaker in the Wicklow/Wexford area I think and another in the Limerick area, they advertise on DoneDeal periodically.

It is worth checking official Ducati prices as sometimes they’re the same as used or new non-OEM hence I mentioned above Ducati Rosso in Dublin. Also, if sourcing new, try Moto-Rapido in the UK, I always read good things about them

    Where abouts are you based?

  11. Hi paul, thanks for the info ,Im based in Co,louth,I'll try ducati rosso as the bike originally came from them, and it only an hour away from me

  12. Thanks Exige,im gutted

  13. Thanks for that information,I didn't know the 999 parts are compatible,

  14. Thank you

  15. Ooh, that's miles away. West Cork for me - west West Cork - Schull.
(Edit - I should have worked it out from the name - Duuhhhh)
As you've found out there's loads of helpful folks on here so just ask if you have any questions. Also, if you have to transport the bike again PM @I'm closing in I'm sure he'll tell you how to strap it down so it won't move come what may.

    Good luck with the fix.
