Had my 2004 749S tuned a few months ago and then found the TPS was faulty. TPS replaced and reset and CO2 readings on start up and idle were very low so looking to tweak them. Thinking the dyno work was done using TuneBoy, modified the AFR and bike started better and idled well. Tried to apply new settings to find that it would not accept the changes. Turns out that TuneECU for Android was used so starting again with that software. Got cable set up that works with my Samsung A5 and downloaded the map but detail not great on a small screen. Any experience on what to use as my tablet fails to connect data due to an internal charging socket issue? Tried to run it on my lap top using BlueStacks so I can run Android and have downloaded TuneECU for Android but all get is a Bluetooth not enabled message when the I am using the same cable as my phone? Any advice appreciated
Derek recommended Scan5MX for my TPS reset and the size of the font etc seems fine for a phone. Maybe worth a try?
What cable are you using? TuneECU needs an FTDI chipped VagCom 409.1 lead to reflash. TuneECU only works with IAW5AM ECUs.
Full set of Lonelec cables, Fiat/Ducati connector, like I say works on my phone but unusable due to screen size. 1AW5AM ECU fitted, OE ECU got fried. Being told elsewhere that BlueStacks won't work with TuneECU for Android?
Chris is 'The Man' on this stuff but Scan5MX will allow you to change other parameters as well as facilitating a TPS reset. Does the software not just allow you to communicate with and change parameters in the ECU? I'd be surprised if TuneECU actually downloads software to the ECU that doesn't therefore allow changes by other software but I don't actually know and I'm sure Chris does.
If you have a laptop the LonElec lead will work with Guzzidiag IAW reader and writer. You will need the FTDI drivers. Everything you need https://www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/. You can download the map in .bin format and use TunerPro to open the map for editing. You will need an XDF file to read the map. There are XDF files on the Guzzidiag website.
Thanks Chris and we thought that. We tried that but it wouldn't take the changes back into TuneECU for Android on the ECU. Will revisit this. Appreciate the advice, maybe we did something wrong.
Thanks Chris, yep we did that but couldn't get the file to open in XDF. Pulled the pin and bought a second hand Samsung tablet from Cash Converters and that works fine. Just got to work out what the values represent in fuelling and increase the first 3 cells to 3000 rpm I reckon. Trial and error time now. Thanks for your help. Appreciated.
My lap top is Windows 10. My bike was tuned by a tuner on his dyno using TuneECU for Android, not TuneEC on PC. I need to change the idle fuelling since my TPS was replaced and reset. This can't be done in TuneECU, only in TuneECU for Android without a lot of faffing about. The Lonelec cable has been fine and is now working with the tablet I bought. Thanks for the input though
Strange. Idle adjustment works fine on PC TuneECU for me (KTM though). As far as PC vs Android, doesn't matter what the tuner used, you can use either to connect and work. You can see 'Idle' on the left, which then let's me set it dependent upon temperature And here is fuelling
Interesting @JH_1986. Turns out the file may have been corrupted which would have helped but ok for now with new tablet. Not sure how a file gets corrupted but thanks.
