I'd have another Triumph Sprint 1050ST, nearly as much fun as the Duke, and the engine at least has some character, unlike an IL4
Bimota - but only with a Ducati engine... so if Ducati didn't exist.. an Aprilia - probably RSV Mille of some sort.
I'm tempted to say Triumph, but I've had two and never really gelled with either. Something with light weight and fine handling, so probably a KTM RC8 or Superduke.
I had a 3 bike shortlist before buying the 848... It was Daytona 675R, KTM Superduke or the 848. I considered an RC8R but decided it was probably "too much". Reckon if I'd gone to test the Superduke I'd have tested an RC8R too though. I was smitten with the 848 instantly though, so I never got that far. Typical me given my previous record. "I'm going to test ride them all first" followed by testing and then buying the one I think I wanted anyway without riding the others... So, to answer the question - Daytona 675R. I am a big fan of Triumphs and their latest stuff is fantastic.
Nothing ambiguous about it at all. If I'd meant "cease to exist" I'd have said "If Ducati ceased to exist ...what would you ride and why?"
I looked at KTM and aprilia before getting my SS I have a liking for the speed triple and I do like triumph something about them not sure what but they do catch my eye
Had one for a short while...........talk about exhaust noise level! Bearing in mind I like Guzzis, but not todays current selection; and, having had a ZZR1100; I have always fancied a Hyabusa....... .......low seat height and straight line speed.....(I really ought to ride drag bikes) AL
Speed Triple for me too. When Ducati put my nose out of joint by not letting us into museum in 2010 I was all for selling everything Italian I owned and buying British, back to my roots, learnt to ride on a 750 Bonnie.
675r, RC8r or the F4rr...hmm i know it would have to be slightly leftfield of the crowd, i used to own a 675 i wish i still had it for a second bike, lovely thing to throw around
