  1. I'd look where the highest price for the best models are and work from there. The famous Sheffield superbike place has these, bearing in mind these are dealers prices, offer finance and warranty

    http://www.thebikespecialists.com/s...ltype=&Transmission=&biketype=&engineccrange=

You then have ebay completed sales which show none at the moment and the only ones up for sale are from dealers

The next place to search is our own ducati sales section and see what a similar has sold for as a reference point

Good luck with the sale chap

  6. Try Ebay, there are loads for sale - 3 with less mileage than yours at dealers. Take a bit off as yours is a private sale with no warranty (say -£2K maybe -£3k as the ones on Ebay have been around for a while and not sold)
The extras won't mean much so consider selling separately - spare fairings etc will raise doubt on it's history anyway...
Did you even look on Ebay :eyes:

  7. Thanks Noob.

eBay didn’t have any completed sales and who knows if that bike shops gets those asking prices.

I also wondered if some people might like the spare bodywork.

  9. Spare fairings were bought in case I ever damaged my own or for someone who wanted the bike to sit in their living room in as new condition. For example, it fell off the stand and the rear fairing got scratched. I left it on for a long time but a few weeks ago out on a complete brand new one.

You know how fussy owners of R bikes can be. Me included.

The spare kit is very much part of the gauging interest approach as some people may want them and some people may not.

And yes, obviously, I looked on eBay and found no completed sales. Buyers can do the same of course and make an informed guess as to what kind of number it’s likely to be and will determine for themselves whether they are comfortable with that or not.

With regards to existing adverts from dealers. Who knows how close they get to those numbers? At the end of the day, it’s worth what someone will pay and not a penny more. After that it’s up to me to decide whether I am happy with that number or not.

  10. Yes, fully understand why you have the spare fairings - but don't raise doubt in a buyer by listing them with the bike if you come to sell it on Ebay would be my advice.

  11. I think that is good advice Exy baby.

  12. Thanks Andy. I am just not using it these days. Seems a good idea to let someone else enjoy the experience. It’s a fantastic motorbike. I have enjoyed every minute of riding it. They are very special.

  13. Yep, having owned 2 before, they give a feeling that no other Ducati do.

I fitted a carbon rear seat from a 999r to give it the all over carbon look.

Regret selling mine but they come and go..

  14. I see the one at the bike specialist is on at £14k with a standard exhaust. The 57mm titanium termis are rare as rocking horse shit these days, so to me, a number close ish to that would seem reasonable. Who wants a 749R without that 57mm exhaust? I would then sell the bodywork separately.

I can arrange for Snells to have a chat with any potential buyers so they can get the full run down on the service record. GDPR ETC

  15. IMHO trying to sell at that price privately would not attract a buyer quickly.
Try selling via a dealer, like Snells... they were trying to sell the one I purchased privately.
Please don't take this the wrong way but Snells would have more gravitas than a private seller.

    Ps.
You'll have to change your name/avatar once you sell it.... ex749er?

  17. Agree that a 749R without a 57mm system is just wrong!

    That’s why I have two....:D
