Wow, really surprised. Almost like the anti-EU sentiment has hardened. Tough for me. I had to move to the French German border and open a second warehouse to try to ensure we don't go bust because of potential trade friction in getting our parts to EU customers. The prices of our motorcycle parts have had to go up because of the value of the Pound and when we tell bikers they are sympathetic. There has been so much governmental lying and incompetence revealed that my euro-sceptical view now has balance. The UK government and political system is broken. I believe in a second referendum. My kids are at school here. Without a deal or no brexit, I may have to pay school fees, buy health insurance for the family and apply for work visas every year. In summary, I could end up back in the UK on the dole.
Don't know mate. Looks to be a letter written by an EU citizen in Finland. Or don't other peoples opinions matter?
Definitely. But the extreme right and left media have only contributed to the brexit divide. In addition, some papers are now seen as unreliable sources. So without knowing where it was printed it has no clout to me.
I checked the author's name and found it was printed in The Sun. Therefore, it could easily be a fake letter in my opinion. The Sun is widely regarded as fake news by: intelligent people scousers Wikipedia etc etc....even Donald Trump, which kind of reverses the feeling it might be a fake news company!
Please define "extreme",Left and Right in the the context of Brexit. I have not yet seen any media outlet advocating, for example, the mass extinction of minorities,(right/),or the total re-nationalisation of all industry,(left). And the only violence in the streets has been inflicted on the general public by the police, generally upon peaceful pro-Brexit supporters, plus some violence by faux-liberals like Antifa who do not want the majority to get what they voted for. What I have seen from the media,(almost universally),is a desire to deny or water down the desire of the majority of the Referendum-voting public to leave the European Union, the consequences of which were clearly expressed by many politicians prior to said-Referendum. We were told repeatedly that we would be leaving the single market, the customs union and everything else. And yet we still have not left the EU after three years! Polticians lying is their stock-in-trade,and the media are their eager mouthpieces...I have never believed what is printed or expounded by talentless arse-lickers masquerading as "journalists",and I don't believe the majority of my fellow-voters have been. The argument that,"everyone else must have been taken in,but I am smart enough to see the truth",is one that the losing side use to denigrate the winners.Typical middle-class lofty contempt for those they look down on-no evidence, just bollocks. Whichever way we voted was because we felt it was in,"our",(collectively or selfishly),best interests. As there are remain and leave supporters on both sides of the houses of conmen and frauds, this is nothing to do with left and right, and everything to do with self or national interest. The failure to deliver what parliament asked US to decide,(as they could not reach agreement themselves),is more to do with the predominantly middle-class political establishment wishing to maintain the comfortable and well-paid status quo ,at the expense of the working class majority,(as usual).
The telling phrase in the post was,"intelligent people". "Intelligent people",believe the Grauniad, the laughably mistitled Independent, and depending how,"intelligent",the,"people",are, possibly the Mirror. And,"intelligent people",voted to remain. Naturally.
We are used to politicians lying to us. We expect it. "No increase in income tax", "No increase in fuel duty", "More money for education/NHS/whatever". We've seen all this stuff. Brexit is different. They aren't simply lying to us, this is not more of the same. The closest analogy I can think of is, if we had a General Election and the sitting Goverment refused to step aside for the people we voted for. Let that sink in. ***** Regarding the MSM, I don't believe them. If they print the day and date on the front of their rag, I don't believe them. If they tell me things I want to believe are true, if they tell me things I KNOW to be true, I still don't believe them. Their newscasters are lying on TV to you, with every breath in and every breath out. Often, the MSM uses falsehoods to lie to you, sometimes they even use the truth - but they are still lying to you. Always.
There has never been any anti eu sentiment, all the way through it has been made clear on a daily basis, we love europeans and love european countries and will find a way to still trade and be their strongest ally, we do however through a democratic majority peoples vote, do not wish to be run by the eu project and commission. Brexiteers are able to see the difference between the people of europe, and a management company of europe. What ever variation of brexit happens you are likely to need to buy health insurance and apply for visas, unless the eu match our declaration that those already here are treated as though they have always been here and treated equal. A second referendum will just prove what was said before the vote, the eu will find a way if it loses the vote, to delay or stop us leaving and with a proven history, will say, no not that vote, we must vote again. I saw a labour mp on tv yesterday saying any second vote should only include mays deal or remain, totally ignoring the peoples majority vote. The thing some remainers miss is that brexit happened because of the eu and how it has changed direction. A direction that throughout europe is seeing many places say no thank you and I feel the mep elections will show this too. Brexit has highlighted just how broken our own system is but it's also been reflected in other eu countries and when that happens in so many countries you look for the common link and that is the eu commission and how it runs the eu
It's the same with some remainers stating that unless you voted to remain, then you must be the far right
Of course, a bit of trolling never goes amiss....but if you think The Sun is a reliable source, then I must insist you are wrong.
As I said earlier,I don't,and have never, believed what I read/see/hear in the media. Or any opinion uttered by politicians of any hue. The Sun is as believable as any other rag,and if you think any of the others are telling the truth, then,"I must insist you are wrong".
