Well quite. I did say anti-EU sentiment, not anti-Europe sentiment. I have anti-EU sentiment. But I now also have an even bigger dose of anti-establishment sentiment.
Anyone one of us can change our votes and some have... it was higher at one point... so keep banging away.... some will fail ..... but I see the "I don't know or I don't care anymore" poll growing steadily.
I agree with most of what you say here. I'd rather have seen UK out in a swift departure period of 1 year, guesstimating a 5 year recession as the country re-calibrates. Unfortunately I m now multiplying those figure by at least 4. My children will be in their prime in 15 years, making their way in the world / country. I really don't what their livelihoods held back by a bodged brexit. And that is now what I see. So as I voted out initially, I would like to see a 2nd referendum without the lies and with no budgets allowed for social media campaigning. But ironically, I would abstain from voting, since I have no trust anywhere any more. They'd fuck up remaining as well now, probably.
People only believe what they want to believe - the happenings after the referendum is the only truth so far: nothing that was said happened and the majority of the establishment are undemocratic cvnts
I'm wondering what the remainer excuse will be when the brexit party outshines all other parties in the mep elections? Will that be another democratic peoples majority vote remainers choose to ignore and blame it on the "racist, poorly educated, xenophobic voters who didn't know what they were voting for" again? I doubt even the eu will ignore this decision and try and run it again
No. You're falling for the misdirect. The media shell-game. The Sun will appeal to some but will inspire a great deal of disdain, much as you display here, for many others. Because of human nature, folks who see The Sun as trash will be drawn in by the soothing tones and "intellectual" patina of "reputable" papers like The Times, The Independent, The Grauniad and The Telegraph. If the Sun is strident rubbish, then The Times (for example) must be a measured, reliable and above all, serious, newspaper. This is smoke and mirrors. This is a con. All national newspapers are rubbish - utter garbage. The only way the significantly differ from each other is in tone. In terms of authentic, useful content, they are all the same - useless and not fit for purpose. I am pleased and proud to have been able to assist everyone here.
I like your attitude but it is simplistic. Let's go even further....I will believe more of what I see from the BBC than I will from the Sun and eg that Russian one called RT. I wont believe all of the BBC stuff, in particular most stuff on politics, but more of it generally. If you can't believe anything you read or watch in the media, the only option is to ask your dad (who probably got his info from the media). Or be there. And we are usually not there. We need to filter. But your bullshit filter is wide open and so everything goes in there.
If a source - like the BBC - is unreliable, then arguing that it contains more "truth" than other media sources is, well, futile. The worst news sources provide verifiable information alongside propaganda and misrepresentation. The juxtaposition of truth and fiction provides a false sense of reliability and veracity. People who aren't paying enough attention get taken in over the lies and misrepresentations because they are layered in between truths. Compare this with "reporting" by The Daily Star. No one I have ever met takes the Daily Star seriously yet it does less harm to UK society than The Grauniad or the BBC. I'll put it another way. A sandwich of fresh, homemade bread and containing slices of aged Aberdeen Angus roast beef, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, quality horseradish and ... dogshit ... is still a shit sandwich. By all means argue the quality of the other ingredients but don't expect anything good to come of it.
Lol. Each news item can be taken separately. With a beef salad sandwich that is less appealing, even without the dogshit.
There is no way you can be salvaged, rich! Roast Beef Salad Sandwich is paradise on Earth. Each news item can be taken separately. How many do this though?
You are missing the obvious. Listen to what people around you are saying. Look at what is happening around you. Smell the bullshit: anyone who puts forward facts when they are nothing but opinion,is bullshit. ALL of your earlier statement regarding the future is just your opinion. It may even be based on the opinion of people you don't know, but who happen to work for one of the most left-leaning media organisations in the country. I would be very interested in seeing and reading the reports that have led you to the negative conclusion of ,(the consequences),leaving the European Union. Funny fact for you: I'm in International road transport, and last week had our insurance broker visit to talk about our renewal. The subject turned to Brexit,(naturally),and when my wife told her we had both voted leave she explained she was puzzled. Her folks ran a beef and dairy farm in Cornwall, and had voted to leave. She herself had voted to leave. And every International haulier she had on her books had voted to leave. She was taken aback by the 100% support for leaving from the very people who the government said would be suffering the most. In my area it's as hard to find someone who voted remain as it is to find someone who admits to voting for Tony B.Liar. These personal conversations lead me to believe a lot of what the media trumpet is wishful thinking, and very few people if any have changed their mind about leaving.
I appreciate that some people may worry about Brexit for a range of reasons. Genuine concerns about job security, family, logistics....you know that kind of stuff. But this poor chap in the Guardian comments section, I'm welling up for him I can't Imagine how devastated he must feel not being 'the cool guy in town'
Honestly, look in the guardian comments section, they make snp supporters look tame Speaking of the snp, as I sometimes do what do these figures mean to you? 1,018,322 and 977,569 I'll pop back in an hour to see if anyone has got it
It's not the reports, it's my life, and yours if you buy my products for your motorbike. I buy products from China, France and UK for my online retail business. The products from China have gone up 15% since 2016. So our products from China underwent a 7% increase in 2017. We would have left them as they were without the Pound weakening against the Dollar. Last week we had a repeat batch of FKM rubber seals made for the clutch slave cylinders we make for V twin KTMs. Martins Rubber in UK makes them for us. In December they were 2 quid each. This batch were 3 quid . I complained. Their response: "On 02/01/19, we implemented a new price structure on our machined seals activity in combination with material supplier charging over the odds due to the “Brexit”, easy excuse for material supplier to put price up wildly, the price was bound to go up." So our product prices have to go up. This is not speculation, it is not a threat, it has happened and keeps happening. Our prices keep creeping up to maintain the gross margin required to have a viable business. The prices are going up much faster than they normally do. In February I followed uk.gov advice and applied for a driving licence address change (I live in France). The French authorities sent a rejection letter, in April citing that all applications from UK citizens are being declined due to the impending departure of the UK from the EU. Why do I need to read reports. I experience the evidence. You may not, but I do.
So, just so that we are on the same page, you claim: "All mainstream media is rubbish and you can't believe anything they say." Fair enough. So, who, then, supplies your "believable" information? Twitter? Facebook? The man on the bus? The bloke propping up the bar? Or do you have the gift of ubiquity and are able to be present at all events? Much as you poo-poo the world's scientists (receiving grants, therefore ipso facto, lying) you poo-poo the world's journalists. I'm very interested in how you get information about anything. Like @Lightning_650, you are interested in facts not opinions. So where do these facts come from?
My point exactly. The reality is that the media still has influence as it has hardened many remainers and brexiters. I am a euro-sceptic, hate Juncker, have spent most of my life with an anti-authoritarian standpoint. But I see some stubbornness getting in the way of pragmatic thinking now regarding Brexit.
