Had my suspicions as to why the Group page disappeared . There's no publicity like bad publicity with all those comments relating to company finances and all the (understandingly) overwhelming negative comments from the group members (me included), or perhaps i'm way off the mark? But it's totally understandable (whatever the reason) that the page was closed if there's the slightest chance of any legal repercussions!! Thank's V4Clint it was good while it lasted.
I checked on the companies house for updates. It appears the strike off action has been discontinued? https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06718623/filing-history
You could just do what the majority of us do on here and regularly insert the words Allegedly or Apparently. I admit it's not watertight, but none of us have sued each other yet, although I'm sure we've been close
Norton are without doubt the most frustrating, difficult, in-flexible and uncommunicative company I have ever dealt with! You would think that having a deposit on their most expensive product would come with "premium" customer service, not zero customer service. They must be in a strong position as suggested by the link above as they clearly don't feel that they have to do anything to look after their customers. You really do have to WANT one of these bikes to go through all of this.... I can only hope that the end product is worth it all.
So, if you don’t like what your auditor reports, simply change your auditor. In a regulated business that is a significant event that requires notification to and approval of the regulatory authority. I don’t have any interest in Norton but if I did, I would be reconsidering it due to that alone.
Opening a new 1.5m factory? - that's hardly a factory! Our new paint plant at work is coming in at £10m and it's going in an existing building
Reading the comments here, Norton only sell bikes, they don't actually make any - since no one ever seems to get one. So maybe the 1.5m building is large enough for them?
I put a deposit down on the Superlight at the NEC show, not one email or communication since...premium price, pi$$ poor service.
Likewise I put a deposit down for a superlight at the NEC, haven’t heard a dickie bird from them . The superlight is being reviewed in this weeks MCN . Let’s hope for an unbiased review.LOL
Unbiased, mcn ? That would be a change... With regard to the new factory I can see the building and services costing 1.5mil, but I expect it will be more of an assembly and storage area than an actual manufacturing facility. I still have my rose tinted specs handy, hanging on to the possibility that I might one day actually see my bike
This is the closest commercial property within a 10 mile radius of Castle Donnington for £1.5 million, you really don't get much for that money, fitting it out would cost more than that - it's a former soft play area, maybe this is it Sorry Mr Garner...……… …………
The difference is, the cost of that soft play building includes the freehold/leasehold for the land it sits on. Norton already have the land so the cost is going to be mainly construction and materials. An assembly area doesn't need much more than decent light, heating/ventilation, work benches, bike lifts, and a bunch of tools. No heavy investment in fixed plant. The pictures of the building look great, I wish it was mine as I think I could have a lot of fun filling it up
