  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  1. Not really no :(. IMO he's a buffoon, an intelligent one, but a buffoon all the same.

  2. Twas myself brought Jesus into the equation by asking the question whether or not the JC in the option was JC who led the Israelites or JC who leads Labour and only in jest to inject some brevity into this thread:). Anyway, I trust you had a good 45th wedding anniversary and the Jura was good:upyeah:

  5. I know many posts have past since this comment but to honest I’ve given up on following this and just sneak a peek every now and again. But I totally agree with you, I lived and worked in Scotland for two years and not one of my mates up there had a good word for them. Is it true that more votes were cast in favour of Brexit in Scotland than were cast for the SNP in the last GE?

  7. yip, its true, more votes went towards the brexit vote. but 62% voted remain.
nobody votes for UKIP, but england and wales voted for brexit. can you not see the stupidity in repeating that analysis?.
its not the SNP that cause the polarization of Scottish and UK politics and society. the blame lies squarely at the feet of the media and the two main Party's.
take loz's statement. about his experience working as a civilian but chatting to soldiers in the desert, the UK gov sends them to illegal wars, under equips them, then abandons them when they leave, often with mental health issues and are left homeless. but who does the Scottish squady hate?.
we have a PR system, our govs and councils are pretty representative of society. since 2016 they are the biggest party in most councils. the biggest party in holyrood. they are second biggest party in the uk. i guess if yer not meeting any supporters it must be true that shit attracts flys. but its also true that, i am also a lil coy about declaring my position when talking to somebody new.
    .
then you have the more vocal on the left on here, bashing the Scot Gov for actually delivering what labour have promised but never delivered. look to the performance of the welsh Gov after 20years of dominance. compare and contrast with our gov after 12 years. 10 of them through austerity. the best you can come up with is "subsidy junky". where did you learn that one? the UK gov? the Con/labour supporting press? the kipper that's never worked a day in there life?. (because of immigrants).
you so called elite of the biking fraternity, the wealthier, better educated demographic are pretty quick in throwing that shit out there. odd.
    .
apparently about 30% of indi voters voted for brexit, Maybe they, Like loz, believe in pure independence. i dont. i dont see a future in it. not for as long as we have, America making America great again. or Russia trying to find its feet again, or countries out there that have become serious competitors in the developed world while still living in and paying third world wages and conditions.
    .
    i liked this woman's argument

  9. I watched that fin as I look at all the stuff anyone posts, even duke :D

and what she seems to be saying towards the end of her point is that she wants independence from both the U.K. and the eu as that is true independence.

If correct? isn't that what many of us have been saying in this and the other thread? The snp's version of independence is not any independence at all but instead is anyone but the English.

  10. As to the cartoon, the problem has been that we have had a remaining house fighting a majority democratic peoples vote to leave. The votes in the house if I have read them right when they have voted on "no deal", has meant the house now has a rule that an extension must be asked for before going down the no deal route.

If I have read that right, then the only thing that has stopped us actually leaving, is the reluctance of the person appointed to run the country in doing as the people asked for.

  11. no, what you have been saying is, you (residents of scotland) are too wee, too poor, too dumb, to be independent.

  12. maybe, as incompetent as she is, and on the face of it, the arrogance of her cronies, (red and blue) realize, without the resources of up here, yer too wee, too poor, tooooooo dumb, to be independent.

  13. Fin, I don't think we see square sausage as a national resource, the Germans might :D

  14. Of course incorrect you lil porker teller you

I pointed out in a house of 650, the snp currently have 35(a figure that can go up and down) and it states parliament does not represent Scotland so wants to join a body of 751 where you will be allocated a set amount of 13 mep's which is based on population

Small countries can succeed but the snp works on diane abbott maths, why isn't Scotland of a nation of 5.3 million treated equally say as England with a population of 56 million. The funny thing is fin as seen by the mep allocation, the exact same population distinction exists whether in the U.K. or the eu. I would say of all the 4 nations, per person, Scotland gets more than any of the other 3

Scots are not to dumb, some of the more ludicrous snp extremists are a bit do lally though :D

The key here though fin, is enough Scots realise what the snp is peddling, is not Scottish independence but it's lot more than we want to be ruled by the eu instead of the English (which you are not ruled by the English, we are all ruled by the U.K.)

Scottish independence, leaves the U.K. sets up it's own currency and thrives on its own resources and people and answers to no other country or organisation

Snp's version of independence is not the above

  15. *cringe*. "post no 32736.
you know, there's many a scot that think that's all we have, your most likely to see them waving the jack, on parade and dressed in orange. tho other brain washed varieties are available. if people just feel British and think they can change it from within, then that's cool. if they think the UK is in fact a UK, and can prosper as an island, then fine. show me. i'm open to it, but you haven't succeeded yet. mostly because yer arguments are based on bull. tell it like it is, be honest, then maybe. just maybe.
    .
again, back to the army, and how possibly one of the most erudite on this forum, i have come to distrust the most. i think he needs help.
i am the stepson of a serving soldier in REMI. the wifes family have all served, from cannon fodder to pilot. from flight instructor to Army aircraft control. each to man and woman pro indi. like the deputy leader of the SNP who was a proper squady in the commandos unlike yer David Davis and his pretendy TA ranking. lets have a wee listen to this guy, mostly brexit related.
what he says about being told how to vote i have heard before. by people i trust.

  16. I'd always listen to someone who served fin, but even this fellow says he left in 1976, 43 years ago and much has changed in that time that he has been a civilian and the same as the rest of us.

if people just feel British and think they can change it from within, then that's cool. if they think the UK is in fact a UK, and can prosper as an island, then fine. show me. i'm open to it, but you haven't succeeded yet. mostly because yer arguments are based on bull. tell it like it is, be honest, then maybe. just maybe.

Well, changing from within I'll start with. The U.K. and let's forget by subsequent elections as well, many eu partners, have pleaded with, cajouled, shouted at, threatened and simply asked the eu, we need to change where we are going as we are leaving the people behind and the eu,no matter what country has asked them, has simply ignored it and pushed harder for centralisation.

Changing the eu from within, is not possible as they simply do not want to change. Will the U.K. succeed outside of the eu? you'd be foolish to bet against it, we have hundreds of years to support that claim and are world leaders in so many future industries.

The three years of trying to stop brexit will add to the timeline of rebuilding no doubt and I do wonder if that was the objective from the very beginning by the majority house reaminers, let's fuck up leaving so people give in, it cannot be ruled out.

It's come to the point that whilst most British international companies would rather stay in the eu (remembering only around 11% of British registered companies export to the eu, 89% do not), the biggest stumbling block for British industry is the delay in action as many will adapt once they know what the rules are.

Mays deal is worse than we have, most agree, so that leaves revoke/remain or as per the peoples majority democratic vote and leave the eu and its rules and control.

  17. But if you can feed the ground swell of Scot's prejudice's ie the English haters, the twats who like painting their faces blue plus the twats that watch Braveheart every week, you'll get their vote. The SNP are an anti English party. And that sits very nicely with the Buckfast brigade.

A nations knuckle draggers account for a big chunk of the vote. Step into Glasgow or Edinburgh's backwaters. They'll all be SNP daft. Give us free stuff and tax the daylights out of the people trying to get on in life. I hate the SNP too. Horrible fuckers.

  19. yip, this is the kind of shoit i was talking about, and i am sure the flys will be hovering soon. and well seeing its been damp this weekend, the first in as long. (another myth dispelled). but it looks like its clearing up, so i might be off soon.
you/we only had possibly the best deal in any trade/political deal going on this planet. what significant thing would you change? what would the flys change? in the 5th richest economy (nothing to craw about, its only 2% of the world economy) would you appeal for more progressive policies? policies that redistribute?. you dont support it in the UK, why would you do it in the EU?
