[TABLE="width: 600"] [TR] [TD="width: 540, align: justify"][TABLE="width: 100%"] [TR] [TD]I received this through email today, i have signed it, what do you think? You may know that Mallory Park Circuit is having problems with local residents objecting to noise and that the company that runs it say they cannot continue in business if they are limited to the number of uses a year that the County Council intends to impose on them. If they cannot use Mallory Park as a race circuit then sale for housing is the likely outcome. The petition is a long way off the 100K signatures needs to get the Gov to take notice, so please add yours now! See: Save Mallory Park Circuit - e-petitions Please add your signature otherwise motorsport and track days will be a thing of the past. Not done - the place is a fly tip of an excuse for a track. It's akin to the Three Sister's track in Wigan and I for one will not mourn it's loss.
Done! Reminds me of a few years ago, when Goodwood stopped doing motorcycle trackdays. When I queried it with the owner, I was told, "The bikes are very noisy and they go too fast!". At that point I was wondering if the owner (the Duke of Richmond & Gordon - a ventriloquist act, I gather) could be forced to sell the track to, oh, I don't know ... say, someone with a brain cell and a backbone? Oh well, I guess I'm not quite over that one yet. Morons.
Wait til Goodwood need the revenue generated from renting the track...until then dong expect any changes
But it's the thin end of the wedge Mike. Imagine those posh knobbers living around Oulton Park getting their complaints back in!
Done. I appreciate it's crankers opinion, but I could not disagree more. Granted its not silverstone, but they are not trying to be. Its a great little track and one that's cheap enough for everyone to do track days at. Whats more concerning is that if the locals win their case, it will stand as an example to other non Motorsport fans to try and impose restrictions on other circuits up and down the country.
That wasn't you in September last year was it Dave? I think it was an R1? If it was, lucky you. If it wasn't, that was one horrific accident and I hope the guy is ok?
Mallory's a decent little track, and the people that run it couldn't be more helpful. We've run a charity trackday for the last few years for air ambulance (sadly it ain't happening this year though), and the staff at Mallory have gone out of their way to accommodate us. Which is far more than can be said for Oulton.
I'm glad the likes of King Kenny etc don't agree with you Mike. Whats up? not man enough to master the track? Bradders grew a huge pair at mallory and went on to beat good class b racers after mastering mallory..
Awesome corner. Thankfully if you do go down, you're heading away from the lake. Only ridden Mallory the once, but still wouldn't want it to close
I've raced a few times at 'The friendly circuit'. I'm going back a fair few years now, but they were a miserable bunch and the track is boring!
