Finally got the big boy on the road but had to add a few things to make it right for me. Other than the Touring Pkg and the AntiGravity Lithium Battery (not shown) I installed the following: EP Ducati Multistrada 1260 Radiator + Oil Guard + Engine Guard Set DP Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger Navihalter GPS bracket Dynamic Rear Plates and Backrest Couldn't be more pleased with the quality of all the above. Next up to complete the upgrades: Throttle Spacers Gearing change (+2R) Tires
Small observation, why 2 teeth up on the rear sprocket ? Most common mod is to go 1 tooth down on the front sprocket which doesn’t require any modification to the chain. Andy
Hi Andy, I've done -1F on my Panigale and although I did like the change (which is equivalent to +3R) , I feel it's too much gearing for the Multistrada. Secondly, removing the front sprocket is not an easy job. In fact, If I were to pay labor at the dealer rate, a new chain would be cheaper.
Okay, thank you for the explanation I went -1 on both my 1200 Multistrada and my 1098R and am happy with both but as you say, it’s a matter of personal choice. Have to say I’ve changed the front sprocket on a number of my Ducatis and certainly with the right tools think it can be a DIY job. Andy
BTW, thought I'd follow-up with you guys by mentioning that I have installed the throttle spacers as mentioned in the OP. This is my third set and they do exactly as expected. Simply awesome mod and best performance for the money.
