I read that as a negative but I’m sleepy. No idea where the “Cash, really ?” came from. Deleted now. Andy
^^^^ This... I've been to auctions and seen crazy money bid. It just takes two people that really, really, really want it. Before you know it, the bids have exceeded top book and beyond. Plus fees....
I have bought approx 30 bikes/cars at auction and completely agree with above comment. It just takes just one other bidder to show an interest and before you know it within 30 seconds bidding is no where near reserve. Bedsides auction houses put in low reserves to entice potential buyers to the auctions in the first place. With only 1200 miles it will be desirable to lots of people. My guess is 27k PLUS OP good luck at auction tomorrow. Hope it works out for you mate.
It was ticking along fast but as I was warned it would. Felt I was only private bidder. It was in 18K range and they were taking 100 pound increments. I had roughly 2 grand to my self-imposed ceiling. Then a new bidder laid on 2 grand. I put a last bid of 100 pound and he put on another thousand. That was it, gone. Took the day off for this and I've had a couple. Thanks everyone for your help, I know there will be other bikes but right now just … that herpes FUCKER.
Thread necro, 2016 at Laguna for sale @ £22k - maybe less with a haggle. https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/163636902390
Seastar Ducati have this 1199R for sale: https://www.seastarsuperbikes.co.uk/used-motorcycles/for-sale/ducati-1199-r-panigale-5513 I wanted the seat off it to try on my Pani but was told it was being sold on behalf of a customer!! So couldn’t pinch the seat for a test.
I've put a 900km world super bike RS engine into mine and just trying to find time to put it all back together. I may do a few track days but it's still potentially up for sale. I've been trying to take it racing but its feeling too unpractical at the moment. Keeping it would be cool but I dont really have space for something I dont use much.
Jesus I hope not! Thats just race interval recommendations, everything gets refreshed much much earlier depending on use and is similar for all manufacturers. I would expect to get several thousand km of hard track/race use before refreshing this, but it wouldn't need any of that for normal use. I dont remember the exact figures but I think Ducati recommend Panigales are refreshed every 2-2500 miles at Superstock racing level. Yamaha and Suzuki are around 2500-3000 miles and BMW are the highest at ~3500miles. For mere mortals racing at club level you only need to consider these intervals if you are top ten or so going hell for leather, everyone else does a lot less if at all on the litre bikes. Track riders hardly bother at all.
All the R are rubbish road bikes anyhow. Wilf is putting a superstock map on for me which I suspect will actually make it more friendly than the lean for regulations tuned road mapping despite the more aggressive cams on these engines. I'm not expecting maintenence to be any different to the normal R engine. I've got the latest generation clutch basket luckily as the older one is known for blowing in exactly the same manner as mine did (not surprising that, but Ducati say its not a design fault....). I'm still trying to get exact details on the differences but it should be stronger than the normal R engine in all the right places. I may race it in Europe where there's less noise issues but the practicalities of going from the BMW all nicely sorted to the Panigale for a trip puts me off the idea.
I’m already aware of that but as I said it’s race use and the same for all bikes. The cams are more aggressive but it’s revs that kill engines and those are not being increased. This should hopefully last longer than a stock engine with its uprated bits. R6 engines for instance are being refreshed several times a season for supersport riders but the average track rider hardly ever does it.
