Deffo wrong decals though and not an 05, not that the seller would know necessarily. Might be all genuine and if so a good buy at that.
Anyone have any ideas why my 1199 isn’t moving along, please? The advert timed out after 28 days, but prior to that it had over 150 watchers and 1600 views. What am I doing wrong? It’s cheaper than standard bikes with more miles and less extra bits. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/323826206189
No idea what these thins are worth but looks great! May be the paint is putting some buyers off, as race reps can do? Or the pro photos and nothing close up? Huge ad, lots of detail, great pics tho.... mystery
You’re right, I’ll do some close up stuff too. I do say in the advert that people can ask for anything they like, but maybe people are nodding off before they reach that part. Thanks dude. Much appreciated.
Hi I intended to come to look at this bike, I'm a drive away mind. Most 1298s that go on ebay have been less than 14k. 1199s generally have been selling for 11k tops usually less. Whilst I know there are extras these tend never to increase it's price by much and in some cases can put buyers off... I'm assuming you've seen the 12.5k in Grimsby? Some wonga spent on that fella.. Lots of watchers as ever but think it'll be less to sell. I'm still tempted to view your bike, cash waiting but I'm 4hrs away.. Would book in hotel... How flexible are you on viewings? Times / days etc... I genuinely love the look of the bike Regards Phil Davidson
Hi Phil- I’m super flexible on times at the mo, so give me a ring and we’ll work it out. I’m on 07760178040.
I've just posted it....got some hospital mither at the mo, I'll check hotel thing out again at least I've have a contact number.. Cheers my man
It’s not too much of an epic journey Phil, a hotel probably wouldn’t be needed. For starters, we have an inside loo now so you’d be welcome to use that, once the queue subsides.
That’s a beautiful bike & I love your description & the way you’ve written about it. I’d buy it like you, if I could justify a 2nd bike. The only thing I can think of as a problem is that race reps are very specific, you have to find that buyer that wants that look which is not always easy. GLWS anyway, it’s a beaut!
personally, and no offence meant here, i'd probably drop some of the waffle/comedy and have some photos of the bike in natural surroundings like near lakes, field gates, seaside, etc. Also, putting standard gear back on like rear-sets, exhaust, etc will allow you to lower the price but keep the same revenue. But i'm shit at selling bikes so what do I know!
I take no offence whatsoever as “waffle/ comedy” is still the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me. I’m going to write it down and laminate it and carry it with me everywhere and show everyone. That’ll show them. Show them ALL. Thanks for your time and feedback CR, I’m really grateful. New/ worse pictures just taken. Advert will be updated soon.
Thanks Fella. I’m grateful to you for taking the time. Whilst I agree with that and my advert definitely goes on way too long, sometimes less is also less. As my dad always says, if someone hasn’t got the time to sell something to me, then I definitely haven’t got the time to buy it. It can’t hurt to demonstrate the same duty of care in selling it as I have in owning it. Mercifully, I couldn’t watch that video. I totally take your point though, and also the point that whoever is in that video is likely making.
May be think of it like a CV: short profile (immaculate, how long wondered, how much spent etc), bullet pointed statements for FDSH, mileage, extra bits fitted, final closing summary of viewings highly recommended, no waters or Nigerian princes looking to cash cheques etc GLWS
BTW, its 100% better than ;1199s, may be for sale,m everyone knows what they look like so if you are serious and want to buy i’ll Send you pictures, pm for price’
Great, now I have to re-do my CV, too. And write a sternly worded letter to that nice Nigerian Prince.
What I meant by "less is more" Just my 2p worth of...and a very brief description of how would I do it. Selling due to arrival of new Ducati. (this can give a hint that you are a Ducati enthusiast and was looked after properly, although most buyers only care about price/condition/service history) I would not advertise on ebay that at the same address there would be a V4R. I am the second owner purchased the bike in September 2017 at ......(mileage) Immaculate conditions and a brief description of what the bike was used for. OEM fairings and reason to paint them (homage to aruba wsb team or whatever was the reason). Invoice from Dream Machine can prove no damage before & bike also HPI clear... Serviced by Ducati main dealers. Service book stamped & invoices present. 1st service......................(dealer , date , mileage) 2nd service................... 3rd service................... (Include all the serviced parts. ie brake pads) Performance parts added to the bike. 1 2 3 4 All original items are included in the sale. Keep some of Andy's pictures(amazing light and quality BTW) and take some close up pictures of swing arm, fork bottom, dash& surrounding area yourself) "The bike has never been on track, dropped or crashed." the tyres have been clearly used on the track(unless you ride at very high pace on the road). Due to whatever strange reason a lot of people believe a trackday bike is kept on rev limiter for hours and would not touch one... I would either change the tyres or specify the tyres are from another bike and fitted to match the race replica fairings. Again GLWS a cracking bike
