  1. PROGUARD SYSTEM by Rizoma Bikes Accessories -

Has anoybody got these on their bike. I quite like the idea of getting one for the brake lever, but I suspect that they are just pure bling and would serve exactly zero purpose in real life
So my question is bling or bin?

  2. Unnecessary bling

  3. What a ridiculous price!! I can see how it may help in everyday life if you dropped it stationary or leant against a wall, but unless you are racing your mates that close on he road, I'd take the chance of having to replace my £30 lever rather than mega bucks on something which may break anyway

  4. Oh I forgot, they snap if the bike falls over

  5. Bling I'm afraid.

  6. Oh look, a bike hook designed to snag on a passer-by's bag or coat while your parked up somewhere.

...wonder how that'll work out then.

  7. Unless you are racing, or possibly trackdays...you may as well put led caps on your wheels and light strips on the bottom of your fairing ;-)

  8. Neather bling or useful, I thought bling in general was to enhance the look of your bike ( in the eye of the beholder) these do nothing for me.

  11. Save your money for some more carbon

  12. You'll find that they are becoming compulsory for racing, (already so for riders in the NW200 this year) and no doubt will filter down through the trackday riders (OK I have one on my track bike). Road bike wise I can't see the point.
Oh yes they do brake if you drop the bike as my mate proved, very expensive Rizomo.

  13. Nah... Only if I was racing. Not a fan of these at all I'm afraid. And that's robbery level pricing.

On a slight tangent - are there two main camps when it comes to Rizoma? (Love and Hate)

  14. Road, no point what so ever. I can see the point on track both racing and track days. But Rizoma's rip off price a big phat no.

  15. Well that is a resounding no then

  16. Are they available in gold?

  17. Will they ship to Canada?

  18. If you're getting that close to anything on the road or on a trackday then you're a dick, and one of these isn't going to save you, therefore it's an expensive dick-alert system.

Even for racing you shouldn't be getting that close at clubman level. I did once have a fellow racer engage his clutch lever on my right calf as he tried to lean on me into Coppice on the first lap at Cadwell, but his lack of forward momentum meant he soon dropped back!

  19. Has it been a while sinced you raced in DD Antonye?
