Less is more & you’ll need space for a whole Serrano ham, Picos cheeses (go to the farms) & a couple bottles cider - oh and a jar of the forest honey It’s fab enjoy the roads in the Picos - if it’s too much stop & rest , you’ve got nothing to prove
Its heavy rain today. I just bought overshoes. I then checked tomorrow’s weather and it’s going to be dry! This is because I bought overshoes. My group owes me

Watch out in Spain. They have a strange road layout sometimes. It is like a half roundabout where if you want to turn left you go right onto the half roundabout until it presents you at right angles to both lanes of traffic. It has probably got a fancy name... If you want to turn left and one of these is present you must use it. If a nice Guarda Civil officer spots you executing a standard left turn where one of these half roundabouts is present he will take money from you towards his retirement.
If you ride up to the monastery at Covadonga, make sure you think of Paul Whitehouse when ever you say the name of the place. (Covadonga, mate!)
The antelope is at the Mirador del Corzo, Puerto de San Glorio on the N621 between Potes and Riano. Bet you ride past it on one of the days. You can think of me and smirk quietly to yourself as you pass...
That’s the price of the change in weather! If I put my wets/wheels in the car tonight it is unlikely to rain at Brands Hatch tomorrow! Just got soaked loading car and trailer though. Have a great trip!
If your on the N621, turn off the small road to the view point (mirador) at Collado de Llesba which is just after the boarder between Castill y Leon & Cantabria (when heading toward Potes). Say hello to the bear for me
Right pretty sure I’ve still got too much stuff but it’s much better than it was. I’m down to 28l (from 42l) of stuff that I won’t be carrying on the bike during ride outs. I’ve got the blaze panniers so they are no longer expanded. Your packing lists really helped give me confidence I could dump a lot of stuff Still have running clothes too
We're on night ferry out of Portsmouth to Le Havre tomorrow night. Usually when you leave French ferry ports you're travelling on dual carriageways. I find it very helpful for getting your bearings for driving on the right.
