In my continuing test of tyres without reading fuck all reviews I will be testing a set of power rs tyres on the hyper...
What a great idea Comfysofa to test tyres without reading any reviews. I presume this is to eliminate any conscious or subconscious bias in your assessment?
2nd bike I've taken for an MOT this week, blowing the cobwebs off Elsie this time. Ah, a powerband at 6k, the sound of Gibson’s and the smell of 2 stroke. 6 miles since last year I'm going to use it this year if the pissing rain stops
I have a British passport ( still!) And a kiwi one . You have probably spent longer in Australia than me.
Well, more for the reason that whenever i bought a tyre based on reviews theyve never been that much cop and when ive just gone and taken pot luck its usually gone quite well...for example....there were some cheap 2ct's on ebay a few years back - got the pair for 120 quid - stuck them on my last hyper....brilliant... Bought a set of m7r's (based on reviews) for the RSV4....absolute shite....to the point of dangerous....transferred them to the z1000 - no change....i was actually happy when i got a puncture in them as it gave me a reason to take them off and throw them... I think that my opinions of tyres really only apply to me and the way i ride so me saying i hated the m7r's doesnt mean theyre shit for everyone....i just didnt like them myself.... Gonna try dunlops next....
I very much liked the Michellin 2 CT's too, had 5 sets one after the other on my 749, couldn't fault them in anyway. Many people were telling me that they were now old fashioned and had been superseded, but I was totally happy with them and didn't want to experiment with anything else. A lot has to do with personal taste I suppose. In my ameuter opinion, modern tyres are so good it takes a highly skilled rider to push them to the limit. Lot of old tosh talked about tyres by people who still have chicken strips a mile wide imo!
Yep... A right fucker getting in back in the hole... Lower swing arm bolt that is... And I didn't loose this one in the swingarm either..! Yey me.
Sat in departures heading off to see madam in London for a few days and wondering at which point in life do we all become like the three wise men opposite?
I think that's a ducati riders meet up, all the bikes have broken down and are in the workshops. The bloke on the right is reading, Europe, pah meh, great, where's the vino by Chiz.
