  1. It’s surely become a parody what some of these advertisers ask!

  4. agree, unfortunate sequence of events but hard to equate it's provenance with the price tag. @final_edition what u think Andy?

  5. Sorry Dave, it was the council’s broom. Trigger had use of it, and maintained it for them: seventeen new heads and fourteen new handles over twenty years.

  7. My memory has gone to rats of late but I recall a 748RS for sale last year with a similar lack of history that failed multiple times to reach £20k. Parts for these bikes have been very hard to obtain for several years already so there will come a time it will become just an ornament. If it were my money, it would be the 955 SPA I saw recently in the workshop, ultra rare in original condition and routine maintenance kits still available from your nearest Ducati parts department. 8. Me too Andy/memory, you are not alone.
I felt privileged to ride an ordinary 955 (no idea of spec) when I swapped my 748 with the lovely Lucio on a return journey:- ProTwins to Boxhill one day.

  9. Do you mean the 748 Racing that was confirmed correct: engine and chassis number that AC purchased for a very good price in the end?

  11. I saw this bike at the Excel bike show this year and spoke to the guy selling it
There was no mention of re framing.
If frame numbers and provenance are what you are after, then it's not for you, as that what you are being charged for.

If you want a nice bike than I guess it depends if you want that kind of bike for the money.

A nice 996/8R is what I would buy and have change left over.

I would have had pierobon or verlichi re frame with the original headstock

  12. Rob at ProTwins had one stashed away in his garage, but i do believe it has been sold to a collector now:thinkingface:
