  2. We’re having some garden work starting this month, and as yet haven’t decided on what stone to use for the bbq area and pergola/ Pergoda?
I’ve used Indian natural stone in random sizes before, I like the rustic look it brings to the garden although it needs jet washing to keep it looking sharp.
    What did you opt for?

  3. I had s very confusing conversation with a french captain of an excursion boat in that part of France a while beck.
He asked me where I was staying I said in a camper van, Quimper and Vannes being two towns nearby !

  9. We looked at porcelain and Indian stone. Porcelain was sold to us as less maintenance but the installation was far more fiddly and had to be more precise. Cost wise it was about 20-30% more than stone.

However we plumped for Indian stone as it giving us the rustic look/finish that we want. Porcelain was a bit too "bling".

The supplier we went for was a company called Talasey and the stone is called "Promenade". You can either buy it by the individual stones or as a patio pack which is 18.9m2 and is different sizes designed to fit together.

  14. We will live in one and rent the other, may do a holiday rental down the road.

  15. Not today, yesterday. Got hit head-on by a 20-something year old on a scooter riding like a loon. The road is a lovely twisty piece up on a dyke and the one side has a 6 foot flood wall on ít. Just tall enough that it will hide a scooter. Tipped the bike in to turn and there he was...

Managed to get the bike upright and created some space for the nutter but he was transfixed by the Duc heading at him and split second later it was all over.

The gear I had on worked flawlessly. helmet took a bit of a beating but was fine. No abrasions or cuts only two small bruises on my foot. My collar bone on the left-hand side was less lucky...

So here I am sat in hospital with a pin in the collar bone which will be removed in 8 to 10 weeks. My whole upper body hurts like hell and moving, coughing or laughing hurts like hell.

As things work here the bike is with the police but it will be looked at by the insurers once it has been released. No idea what the damage really is, was in too much pain to look, but I suspect there is a lot. For now I'm just happy not to have any serious injuries.

    Be careful out there!!
