Guys, Not sure how many of you use GoPro cams on your bikes but I do. I noticed this on Kickstarter today and I think it's not a bad idea. The engineering looks sound and being able to safely lash the cam to my bike in addition to the suction mount is a good investment for a few dollars. HD Hero, Hero 2 & 3 Tether, never lose your GoPro Camera !! by Mike Kamber — Kickstarter I'm not connected with this but I have backed it. Cheers Neil
It's a Kickstarter so no prices per se, look down the right and you chose you level of investment to make the project happen. N.
I made my own tethers by drilling a hole through the screw handles that attach to the go pro mounts and threaded a thin but strong lanyard through that hole. This seem a little overkill to me, but I am sure some will like it. I'm out.
Don't use one myself, but know a guy at work who uses a Go-Pro all the time. The suction mount has survived several high speed track days and a lowside accident on a roundabout without ever even getting close to letting go of his tank, so an extra securing leash seems a little over the top to me. Also, if it did come loose in an accident ( or at any other time for that matter ) would you want it swinging around on the end of a tether where it can connect with you ? Sorry, it's a "no" from me...
Looks OK but why all the unnecessary bullshit about special materials, precise tooling etc. It's just a plastic plate and some string.............. As said above, you can sort your own......
