Tried them-they were dearer than my existing company. Also tried Hastings Direct on line.Got stuck on the employment question.I answered the retired box and then the site wouldn't proceed until I gave them my employment details.I will now give up searching for a good Insurance deal, sell the bikes, and take up something more suited to my age, something like ranting and raving.Oh,I do that already!
Today I have mostly been cooking ... Last Sunday we hid indoors and made lager, which will need to go in the barrel tomorrow and then the garage for lagering for a month. At least with the horrible cold weather we've got a hope of it cold conditioning properly! Today (after an excursion through the slush in the Scooby to Waitrose for ingredients) other half and have been cooking loads of curry to stock up the freezer for quick dinners when I get in from work late (end of tax year busy season madness). Before starting on the curry I made a batch of chocolate and walnut cookies to keep us going (and as payment in advance for the next time I ask Andy to clean the Monster, which is currently filthy and salt-crusted after the commute this week). On the hob at present are lamb dopiaza (for the other half as I don't like lamb or onions), mixed dal (surprisingly spicy - blame the extra hot chili powder) and I now need to go back to the kitchen to start on my potato, cauliflower and pea curry. Mmm curry ...
I've just been outside in the snow and lit a cigarette. It was vey quiet...... .......I hate noisy cigarettes. AL
Good to know that bins in photos isn't a recent thing and that we are just maintaining a proud tradition
Busy day, took pooch to vets for annual booster, took bike to MotoRapido, very wet ride up to Winchester. Spent a while chatting to Phil about the latest BSB race bike which was in the shop getting prepped for Brands. got a 10k road race in morning.
Cleared the garage, charged up my battery ready for a fire up tomorrow and just watched Leicester Tigers win on ESPN while tucking into pie, chips and peas
Today I have mostly been freezing my ass off having recently returned to UK from Africa...oh and my MacBook Air had to go to a " genius" today to be ffixed I did however pick up my new suit from gieves and hawkes that cheered me up a touch although Monday the 996 is due at Kais for a fork upgrade but looking at this awful weather that may well be out on hold
Attended the Secularist of the Year awards ceremony and lunch in Wardour Street, Soho. It was a good day. Main award was in honour of Malala, the Pakistani girl who was shot in the head last year because she wanted to go to school.
Walked in snow .. Not settled on roads . Had a Starbucks .. Now got to get rid of my grey bits that suddenly appeared on mass in last 2 weeks
Started with leaving home at 0530 to help a mate whi had a trackday at Llandow today. After driving thru floods, sleet and snow, turned out it was the only place in the uk mostly dry and just cold. Not a drop of drizzle all day great little circuit btw, reckon small attendance plus easy track = ideal first track day materiel.
Got up and then sat down again all day. Sometimes with relatively little pain. Read a book. Mind you, I'm glad my week of having a bad back has coincided with crap biking weather, I would be doubly unhappy but for that.
On our way to the Alps. Interesting drive to the tunnel in the snow. Met a motorcyclist on the other side who was riding down to Barcelona and doing some track days whilst there. Catalunya I think he said. now holed up in a tiny hotel in the middle of France with fantastically fast wifi, at home it is really slow. Looking forward to skiing!
And you think you had a bad day . I was having a look at English Bull terriers online ( don't ask ) And this popped up . Poor poor dog I think learnt don't mess with a porcupine. View attachment 12907 I can't imagine how much that hurt
That's awful :frown: But I guess he stuck his nose in where he shouldn't have. Lesson to be learnt there
Fitted TTX, its such a ballache having to remove most of the system to get the shock in and out...and a shame whoever decided to scribe Brook on the shoulder of the shock did so where you can see from the side where you see when fitted on the bike but I'm not taking off to polish out yet, see how much it annoys me, but mint is is not
